In Germany for very rare cases you need to get the photocopies of your original documents (usually if they are of foreign origin) attested but the attestation takes place in "district or town council". Whereas in Pakistan every lanju panju 17th grade so-called "officer" is given the right to attest photocopies of original documents in almost all cases.

in 99.99% that lalu panju take 100 rupees and sign it he don't know any sh1t of it . its really sad to see our country system in still in 1950s

And this is happening in a country where the bloody photocopy machines didn't even exist before 1980s, I was listening to one of the lectures of Ashfaq Ahmed on YouTube where he said that the first photo copy machines came in Lahore around 80s or something and he said before that there was NO concept of "submitting photocopies" of your original documents and the Pakistani State and society was still "functioning" without any problem.

i can talk long and all day on this subject, and i have read everything in tanias presentation .

to be honest, i simply dont have enough time on my hands nowadays to do a meaningful post ( one liners not my habit ) .

to cut it short .

three areas were totally missing in tanias vision

1. AI ( machine learning algos )

2. digital currencies . a look into blockchain and its governance model . im in talks with state bank of pakistan

3. start assembling transistors and chip boards atleast and asap . thats how china started in 1980s and shenzhen was born .

i will do a proper email draft and share with members so i can forward to MoIT.


lets face it, we have a lot of catching up and hard work to do . the world out there is very competitive . s korea and china werent built in a day

Read up on her. PM selected her for change mgt/digitizing the govt.

To others lets focus on the five main headings and find problems and propose solutions to them (the important part).

Over the next week I will draft an email and write on the following:

Separation of FIR process from Thana and digitizing it somewhat similar to PM portal.

Blockchaining of property title record especially fares e.t.c in rural area

Blockchaining of memos/procurement authorization/ any other decision authorization letter issued by section officers and above.

Digitizing/Blockchaining PKR as a currency.

Improving the registration set up in secp for foreign investors in local startups.

Will write more when I think it through.

Make universal database for education board and give access to registered school/college/university to check the records of students academic record this will ease procedure for student to have number of documents and keep proving the institution that student has passed 10th grade.

Before any change in governance, we must work on the mentality of people. British people, should I say, even rulers before them, did great work on the mentality of people of subcontinent. That's the reason they ruled these animals as they wanted. Now, before correcting any other thing, first this dust on the people's mind must be removed.
And current government, though have many good people, but majority is same old haramis, who even can't bring up their children well, what they can do for bringing up a whole nation.

I have serious reservations about her appointment. Reasons being

Tania doesn't have technical qualification to make her suitable candidate for the role. She is just an MBA.
Her role at Google was just marketing side of things. Which means that she will have to rely on input form technical people to run this project. Those technical people will not be Google Engineers this time and how she manages Govt Bureaucracy will be a challenge. I don't expect people with old habits will like her bossing them around.
I don't know the details of this initiative but it should be run with involvement of private sector. The focus should be to empower local companies to drive the initiative which I feel will be the case.
I wish her well but feel that we are having another Asad Umar who is good at talking but failed to deliver. Having said that I will be extremely happy if I'm proved wrong.

FYI this is from someone who previously worked at Google, involved in delivering 5G solution for Tokyo Olympics and currently involved in rolling out 5G Services in Australia. Irony is someone lectured me to speak to Ericsson regarding 5G in one of the previous threads which made my day .
