Bangladeshi citizens near the border 'char' areas live in abject poverty. Smuggling, trafficking and peddling are rampant. Bangladeshi GDP might be marginally better than NE but that benefit doesn't trickle down to the char inhabitants. Income inequality is high. Consequently, they come to India seeking better livelihood.

Just don't expect any Bangladeshis to own up to it especially those who live overseas or in cities and are disconnected with reality.
