I am saying we should develop MRL like M270 which can fire missiles like Ghaznavi and Abdali which are equipped with convential but seriously deadly warheads capable of wiping out area of few square kilometers

Can't we launch conventional ghaznavi & abdali warheads from the same rocket system from which nasr is launched?

Currently Pakistan army has in total 134 MLRS from which 42 are A-100E, 40 KRL-122 (native) and 52 Azhar (Type 83).

Iran has 1474 MLRS.
India has 292 MLRS.
China has 1770 MLRS.

I feel Pakistan Army shall increase MLRS to 500.

How about increasing KRL-122 from 40 to 100.
How about increasing 52 Azhar (Type 83) to 200.
And increasing 42 A-100E to 100.
This will make Pakistan Army MLRS size to 400.

Plus adding 100 9A52-4 Tornado from Russia will increase our MLRS quantity to 500 and its gonna give us significant boost too. I know it is difficult to increase MLRS size to 500 rapidly but gradually doing it is possible like taking from 134 to 500 till 2020?

we have a policy to keep it indigenious either by revrse engineering someone else's or by black market

My suggestions would be to leave mrl to the no.s we have. We should go for M109 howitzer because they are more accurate .MLR in my opinion are used to hit wide range of area in blind instead of pinpoint action against.

Dude, listen Russia is offering Pakistan its best. Few days back PAF chief visit Russia for fighter jets and Russia showed him their best fighter jets. Russia will be ready to sell Pakistan anything we want. Russia wants better ties with everyone who is concerned with US. Russia is investing about $2 billion in gas pipeline too and nowadays Pakistan and Russia bilateral ties are at their best.

According to latest issue of Roketsan magazine,

-122mm lazer guided artillery missiles have been developed. The 122mm missile is laser guided and can target moving targets as well. Prototype firing tests of the 122mm guided rocket have been performed successfully. It is also underlined that Pneumatic cold gas side thruster for 122mm guided artillery missiles have also been developed !


- 300mm guided artillery missiles called "Tiger" have also been developed. This missile reached 5m CEP rate at 100km range in trials. It has a range of around 120km. The Artillery missile is ready for export markets like 122mm variant.

We are talking about Multiple Launch Rocket Systems not nukes here and Pakistan has mostly imported defense equipment from US & China. We used to have bad relations with Russia but today Pak & Russia ties are at top and we should benefit it because it will strengthen relations more.

Pakistan should definitely go for MLRS from Russia and Su-35 too.
