It's more than a video, it carries a deep message. I will not say much, Wasim Akram in the video has said enough for me. I am sick of this behavior by our people and Media. We abuse our heroes beyond a man can take this-so-called-criticism. I understand the team is failing, we need to support and respect him till the day he leads us. I feel sorry for him and the team, is it only their fault?
Our team should give their 100% on the field and try their best-that's all one can ask for. I can't guarantee they will win, but god damn it we need to respect our heroes. I bet if we do well in this World Cup Afridi will become the best-player in the world again. Pathetic behavior.
Moving on, we need to give him some room till the end of World Cup at least.

Support your Captain on his Final Journey; Support Pakistan.

I fully agree with you. He has won many matches for pakistan on his own. I remember some of them against India as well.

He is a great player. He is failing now so as pakistan team. He deserves support and not criticism and abuse. I show a video of Miandad bluffing and criticizing afridi like anything. When I was watching this, I remembered the india pakistan match of world cup match of 1997. Pakistan was trailing like anything and needed fast runs. He came at no 5 or six when Pakistan required quick runs. He made some 30+ odd runs in 64 balls and pakistan lost the match inspite of a century partnership at 8+ run per over. I know how badly he had failed against Kapildev when Pakistan team had been to India tour for 5 matches.

Let afridi play freely his natural game. There are some chances of bouncing back. If you keep him under tension, he will not be able to perform as per his potential.

Yep, he helped Islamabad win some key games (Saeed Ajmal helps Islamabad United clinch last-ball thriller against Karachi Kings in PSL | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo but Waqar said he was not in the "best" of form hence his exclusion. A blunder imo as you said.
Ajmal is not the same, has lost his charm to be honest. Needs to be given more time before introducing him to the world stage. Bowling will not be a big problem. Imad, Afridi and Shoaib are quite good enough. Much better than many other spin attacks.

Lets hope so, on the bright side Hafeez looked more settled yesterday and that is a huge thing because he is supposed to provide that initial stability, whereas in the Asia Cup he flopped badly. Once the initial wickets fall, the Pakistani batsmen have a habit of coming under pressure and forming a line.

Hafeez will fire, he needs to to. My squad:
Shehzad
Sharjeel
Hafeez
Akmal
Malik
sarfaraz
Afridi
Imad
Irfan
Amir
wahab

Should be a good combo, we need to fire. PS: i feel sorry for Shehzad missing out on Asia cup and suddenly coming back in, pathetic to say the least.

This team has the potential to surprise, but they need confidence badly. In the Asia Cup they looked like they were all over the place. Thanks god for Malik and Akmal who maintained our pride against UAE, because that game was going really badly. We should have played a series against Zimbabwe before the Asia Cup and World Cup :D

Shahid Afridi says his 'love in India' remark is a positive message

Under attack in Pakistan for stating that cricketers from his country are loved more in India, captain Shahid Afridi on Tuesday sought to douse the fire by saying that he did not intend to demean his nation and was merely trying to give a "positive message" by showing respect to the fans.

In an audio statement posted by the Pakistan Cricket Board on its Twitter handle, Afridi has clarified that he was not trying to belittle Pakistani fans during the now infamous post-arrival press conference ahead of the ICC World Twenty20.

"I am not just captain of the Pakistan cricket team but I am representing all the Pakistani people here and I think if one looks at my comment in a positive way then it is obvious that I did not mean to say that anybody else would matter more to me than Pakistani fans. My whole identity comes from Pakistan," Afridi said.

Afridi has been criticised for the statement made on Sunday with former captain Javed Miandad calling it shameful.

The flamboyant all-rounder has also been issued a legal notice in Lahore for his comment.

"I was asked a question by a journalist and I tried to answer it in a positive way because I know whatever I say would be heard all across the world. So I was merely trying to give a positive message to the rest of the world that we enjoy a lot when we play in India.

"Whether it is Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis or Inzamam ul Haq, they will also say that they get a lot of respect here because cricket is literally worshiped in India. You can even ask Imran bhai, cricket is a religion here.

"I merely gave a diplomatic statement so that the message that goes to the world is that cricket brings people together and Indo-Pak relations have always got a boost because of cricket," Afridi clarified.

"I think I made a positive statement on behalf of my country but if somebody looks at it negatively, he would get a negative message. But my intention was positive," he added.

Pakistan, who arrived later than scheduled in India owing to security concerns, will open their World T20 campaign against Bangladesh in Kolkata on Wednesday.
