Charter submitted by Shahbag mob to Bangladesh national assembly speaker asked all newspapers, media, business and banks which has opposition bias or has Islamic name to be BANNED, including banning Jamaat –e-Islami Bangladesh which enjoys significant support from general population. It is important to note that Islami Bank Bangladesh is largest private commercial bank and IS NOT owned by Jamaat but a publicly traded company owned by shareholders. According specifics, Shahbagh mob demanded to ban Islamic Bank, Ibne Sina, Focus and Retina coaching centres and media outlets Diganta TV, daily newspapers Naya Diganta, Amar Desh and Sangram and Sonar Bangla Blogs.

The charter also calls for a ban on the Jamaat-e-Islami and like-minded religion-based political parties, anti-liberation forces and collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces.

Besides, all businesses, socio-cultural bodies and media outlets run by war criminals should be banned, the charter says, naming Islamic Bank, Ibne Sina, Focus and Retina coaching centres and media outlets Diganta TV, daily newspapers Naya Diganta, Amar Desh and Sangram and Sonar Bangla Blogs.

Beyond formal demands of banning, this mob gathering orchestrated by india and facilitated by Awami League regime asked to attack these newspaper, media and Banks and to kill anyone supporting Jamaat in Bangladesh.

These fascist cry to eliminate opposition voice and business institutions with Islamic name are reminiscent of fascism by Nazis which led WWII. Soon after fascist incitement from Shahbagh, Bangladesh, Islami Bank branch was set fire. Daily Amardesh which had exposed Awami League regime corruptions, Indian aggression and interference and expose so called war crime tribunal gross violations, came under attack.

Now another newspaper Daily Nayadiganta which was threatened by shahbagh mob in Bangladesh, came underunder attack. Yesterday, Shahbagh mob set fire in Daily Nayadiganta office. In majority Muslim Bangladesh people who wear hijab and young people who keep beard, regardless of their political biased, are in fear of attack from Shahbagh incitement.

1. Use of the word "RAWAMY"

2. Use of the word "Dalal"

I'm shocked, I never thought Idune would say such "original" words.

I guess RAW agent Vinod is in Dhaka tonight, lurking in the shadows of Shahbagh.

"Shadows of Shahbagh", sounds like the title of a good Bollywood movie.

OMG! it's not only fascism of sheer magnitude but also prelude of civil war. Blood bath of unarmed Muslims are about to be started. I saw it coming a long time ago, exactly when unknown JMB walas blasted potkas in 300 places. Around that time foolish BNP and JI walas were rejoicing on their success on catching Bangla Bhai and Abdur Rahman but never listen to the warning against their turn. Now, 'Goriber Kotha Banshi Hole Fole' has come to fruition again. May Almighty save our beloved motherland from RAWMAY-Malaunic-Bastardous-Fascists, Amen!

A group of activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir fired at police, blasted crude bombs and vandalised at least 50 vehicles in Dhaka Tuesday afternoon.

Two policemen were injured in the shootout. Locals beat up two alleged Shibir men and handed them over to police.

The Jamaat men came out in a group of about 50-60 people from a lane adjacent to the CA Bhaban in Kawran Bazar area around 1:30pm, said witnesses. “They began vandalising vehicles and headed for Panthapath,” recounted one of them.

The Kawran Bazar road leads to Shahbagh – about two kilometres apart. Mass protests continue for the eighth day at the Shahbagh intersection Tuesday.

Soon after, another group of the Jamaat-Shibir men emerged and indulged in vandalism in the area.

“They vandalised vehicles and blasted bombs,” said Tejgaon zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Manjurul Kabir.

Police also fired back in self-defence, he added, “but two policemen were hurt.”

The area turned into a battlefield when police tried to stop them, police constable Mohammad Rassel, on duty in the area at that time, told bdnews24.com. “Police fired shots to disperse them.”

At least 25 people were injured at Panthapath, reported bdnews24.com Chief Crime Correspondent Liton Haider, who was present on the scene, citing locals.

Five were admitted to hospital with bullet wounds, he reported. Among them, two, including a woman, were hit with bullets from shotgun. The other three working in makeshift tea stalls adjacent to Bashundhara City shopping complex were hit by rubber bullets.

Bangla daily Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman also received injuries while passing through the area in a car, said a witness.

Professor Anisuzzaman was also with Rahman in the car, said a journalist of the house later.

The Jamaat men blasted crude bombs while fleeing, said witnesses.

Locals beat up and handed over two Shibir men to police, according to the Kalabagan Police Station officials.

Up to 20 blasts were reported from Motijheel Shapla Chattar area that led to panic in the locality.

Police were looking into the incident, said Motijheel Police Station Officer in-Charge Hayatuzzaman.

Awami League supporters rallied in the area after the blasts.

Meanwhile, some Jamaat-e-Islami supporters torched a microbus in front of daily Naya Diganta office and press at Motijheel soon after the trouble in Karwan Bazar. The daily is owned by Jamaat leader Mir Quashem Ali.

Some papers of the press also caught fire, but were soon doused by employees, said witnesses.

Owner of a nearby shop, Manik told bdnews24.com that he suddenly saw the microbus in flames, though nobody was seen around.

The Naya Diganta owners blamed pro-government Bangladesh Chhatra League for the arson.

Motijheel zone Additional Police Deputy Commissioner Mehedi Hassan did not blame anyone for the incident.

The tactics that Jamat uses (which the Awamis use too) of attacking innocent people and destroying their hard-earned properties or sources of livelihood for them and their families is in complete defiance of Islamic teachings.

Real Islamically-minded people are pious and believe that the outcome is with Allah but that they will be judged on the methods they use to try and gain that outcome.

Jamat are simply using brutal tactics of other political parties while having "Islam" in their name. Their thugs are clean-shaven and do not seem like decent pious people.

This is why the vast majority of genuine Islamic people in Bangladesh hate them.

'Massive' Shibir attack on JU
The Jahangirnagar University Vice-Chancellor’s residence came under a massive attack with several buildings and vehicles vandalised on the campus Tuesday night by Islami Chhatra Shibir activists.

Supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami’s student front carried out the attacks, Vice-Chancellor Prof Syed Anwar Hossain said.

Hours after a student of the university died, the two-hour-long mayhem began at around 8pm. Teachers and students also said many unknown people were seen there at the time.

“The university has been under a massive tack. I need massive support from law-enforcers, and it has to come now at my university,” VC Prof Hossain told bdnews24.com at 10:20pm.

Some 20 minutes later, he called again to say: “Shouting Allahu Akbar, Shibir activists have attacked my residence. They have stormed into the kitchen. My family is hapless.”

The VC was on his way back from a function at Government Edward College in Pabna. He said he also called an emergency meeting of the Syndicate.

The meeting is supposed to sit right away after the VC arrives.

Meanwhile, Proctor Sohel Ahmed told bdnews24.com: “At least five vehicles including one at the Vice-Chancellor’s house was vandalised.”

The vandalism took place after statistics student Abdul Malek, resident of the university’s Maulana Bhasani Hall, died earlier in the evening.

At first, he was admitted at the university medical centre with heart disease. But it took a while to send him to a hospital as there were no duty doctors and ambulance.

Duty doctors at Enam Medical College Hospital at Savar declared him dead when he was taken there.

Malek, son of Momtaj Uddin, was from Mirpur at Gabtoli upazila in Bogra.

The residence of the Maulana Bhasani Hall’s Provost and the university medical centre was vandalised around 9pm after the news of his death was out.

The VC’s residence came under assault following attacks and vandalisms on residences of several other teachers.

Eyewitnesses, mainly teachers and students, said many unknown people were seen during the attack at the VC’s residence.

Later, vandalism also took place at the university’s main gate.

A Waz or Islamic lecture was also going on at Islamnagar area adjacent to the campus.

Bangladesh Chhatra League’s JU unit President Mahmudur Rahman Jony told bdnews24.com: “Shibir activists may have come from that Waz.”

Proctor Sohel Ahmed said, “I heard Shibir activists came to the campus and they also chanted slogans.”

Heavy police deployment has been made.

BULL SHYTE, DOG SHYTE FROM SHYTEE-MALAUNIC-SHARE MARKET LOOTER'S SITE. THERE IS NO BOMB, NO FIRE IN ANYONE'S HAND IN THAT PICTURE. THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT FOOLISH JI/SHIBIR'S MEN DON'T HAVE FIRE ARMS AND THAT'S RAWAMY DALALS CAN BE AUDACIOUS TO SHOOT AT THEM. THE AMOUNT OF COURAGE THEY ARE DEMONSTRATING UNDER FIRE AND TAKING BULLETS AT THEIR BODIES, SHOWS THAT EVEN WITH 1/3 OF THE PORTION OF DALAL'S ARM AND BACK-UP, THEY WOULD MAKE TOAST OUT OF DALAL-BASTARDS.

Shibir unleashes quick terror

2013-02-13__fr02.jpg

In an apparent bid to create panic among the people united for the hanging of war criminals, armed Jamaat-Shibir activists exploded cocktails and opened fire at several points in Dhaka yesterday, injuring at least 30 including three policemen.

Their attacks left another 17 wounded in Satkhira and Bhola.

The party earlier had announced to stage a rally at 3:00pm yesterday at South gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque.

Instead, several small groups of armed cadres were sent to different areas of the capital. Their attacks starting from 1:30pm continued in till 2:45pm.

Sneaking out of alleys, the cadres indiscriminately damaged at least 30 vehicles, including a police van, in the city's Karwan Bazar, Panthapath, Kalabagan and Motijheel, witnesses said.

People were seen running for shelter and traffic became thin during the rampage, witnesses said.

At least 73 Jamaat-Shibir activists were detained at Motijheel, Tejgaon and Kalabagan, police said.

Law enforcers fired at least 500 bullets and several hundred tear gas canisters in Tejgaon and Motijheel.

Assistant Commissioner Afroz Tutul of DMP's Tejgaon Zone and officer-in-charge Apurba Hasan of Tejgaon police station, a female garment worker Hafiza Akhter and pedestrians were among the injured.

They received treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Samorita Hospital, and other clinics in the capital.

Kalabagan Officer-in-Charge Enamul Haque told The Daily Star he had arrested five Shibir activists. He found their mobile phones stored with text messages in code language suggesting names of places like Karwan Bazar, Panthapath or Paltan. Separate text messages just suggested some numbers like three or 10.

“These indicate how these people were mobilised to different places. But we have to first interrogate the detainees to get a clearer picture,” he added.

KARWAN BAZAR
Several groups of Jamaat-Shibir men posing as pedestrians gathered near Karwan Bazar mosque around 1:30pm. After about ten minutes, they started shooting and throwing pelted brick chips at law enforcers, police and witnesses said.

“We were prepared; so we managed to contain them," Deputy Commissioner Chowdhury Monjurul Kabir of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Tejgaon) said.

He added three police men were injured during the clashes.

Witnesses said the cadres also damaged several motorbikes near Prothom Alo office.

Being chased by police, the Jamaat-Shibir men moved towards Sonargaon intersection.

Another gang vandalised two vehicles of NTV and RTV parked near offices of the private television channels in Karwan Bazar. The group also ransacked five cars of Titas Gas office.

The rioters then vandalised a police box at the Sonargaon intersection and fired several stray bullets. This was when garment worker Hafiza Akhter sustained bullet injuries.

The group firing stray bullets and cocktails then moved towards Bashundhara Shopping Mall at Panthapath where three youths sustained bullet injuries.

A running battle between police and rioters took place from Basundhara Shopping Mall to Panthapath traffic signal.

The armed cadres were about to get trapped between two police teams -- one from Karwan bazar end and another from Panthapath, witnesses said.

Witnesses added, at the moment Jamaat-Shibir men began chanted Joy Bangla slogan to pose as pro-liberation force.

Deputy Commissioner Chowdhury Monjurul Kabir said, "We picked up 24 Jamaat-Shibir men and of them five were injured."

MOTIJHEEL
In Motijheel, about 300 to 400 Jamaat-Shibir men suddenly brought out a militant procession in front of Notre Dame College around 1:30pm and blocked the road by setting fire to garment waste.

Later, police from Shapla Chattar and Arambagh areas chased the Jamaat-Shibir activists.

Officer-in-Charge Hayatuzzaman of Motijheel said "Amid gunfires from the cadres, we shot around 200 to 250 bullets and several tear gas canisters. The fled through lanes in the areas."

The OC said they picked up 43 Jamaat-Shibir men from the spot.
