Kind of wonder how Chinese companies can turn a moribund factory which had lost money for almost a decade into a huge money making enterprise just in couples of months, it's like a miracle touch..

Average salary in this steel plant is 73k Serbian dinars ( about 720 $), and Serbia are one of cheapest countries in Europe.

1000$ salary in Serbia is close to 2.000 - 2.500 $ salary in Central Europe.

Slovenia is ahead of Serbia in every aspect. They are probably most pleasant place for living in entire EU.

Croatia is better too, but they have each year 10 billions of $ just from tourism. And they prices are 30-50% higher.

Problem with Serbia is crony nature of our economy and lack of "fair play" privatization.
We need enterpreneurs not a tycoons and oligarchs.

The revenue of this stleel plant now almost accounts for 1% of Serbia's GDP, and it is also the second biggest exporter in the country, must be a very big enterprise.

Not much of a Serbian problem big issue in Eastern Europe, Russia,Ukraine,Central Asian Republics the only ex communist state with less if those problems are the Baltic states,Czechia and Slovenia

I have a few Serbian,Bosnian and Albanian friends irl and online tbh it was really those old Yugo war songs like Remove Kebab and Roki Vulovic songs that peaked my interests and the 90s wars in the region plus the Balkans is a unique region of Europe close to the Occidental and Oriental points of the world but I. the middle it has a melancholy history I could tell you that plus I would visit some day
