TOT is not a show stopper--- there are advantages of having weapons that are security critical while you work on JV's for future weapons. Right now the Indian military is grossly wanting ... US weapons are in most cases way more advanced than russian ones.

The level of TOT will be far worse to India, considering it is not a NATO ally. This was part of the reasons why the US planes were rejected. The US is great for PR but when it comes to substance they deliver far under par. I see that hasn't dampened the enthusiasm of some of the Indian posters here.....

For IN- yes 3-4 SQD of "C" in service coupled with EMALS on 2/3 ACC would be a force second only to USN. IAF-no makes little sense to operate SOOO many (FITH) gen fighters especially with AMCA being developed.

Yeah,but the problem is that IN has already started to show a great interest in AMCA and told the ADA and other DRDO labs to speed up.So I doubt that navy will buy the downgraded F 35s.

Depends on what program are you talking about and what era...Few decades ago we hardly had money to buy weapons and were greatful to Russia for giving us soft loans etc etc...Only a fool can put a condition of TOT...However now the things have changed...We have got some money and JV/TOT are very important for us if we ever want to get into indigenous mode...

Please no fighter aircrafts from the US. Transport crafts or even attack choppers are ok. But NOT fighters. You never know when the Congress/Senate has a change in heart and make the fighters hangar queens.

yes we have TOT for Su 30 mki & T90 Tanks, and list is long, so we expect the same from US as we dont want to be dependant on OEM.
