So why is literally everyone crying over YRG winning Senate elections? What does YRG winning implies?

It will be spun by PDM and media as an indicator that Imran has lost majority in the assembly. They may try to not allow him work by constant agitation.

The system obviously needs reform, but Imran Khan resigning over the loss of one senate seat is basically what the corrupt political elite of the PPP, PMLN etc want.

What matters is legislation getting through both houses and that is an open vote! Zardari & Co will have to throw a lot of money over every single legislation to stop it passing.
