Secularists should 'mend ways or leave country', says PTI lawmaker

Are you sure that Jinnah's Muslim Pakistan (based of course on Qur'anic principle of absolute equality of mankind) is acceptable to you ?

I personally have no issues with Ahmadis. I know a few and those are good people. Issue is sensitive and needs to be dealt with properly. Yes, they should have rights but they should also not do anything to fuel any kind of conflict. Due to sensitivities, keep a low profile.

Saying that, sermons in all mosques (& any other gathering) should be regulated and no one should be allowed to say anything that causes unrest in the society. That applies to Sunni, Shia, etc etc.

Bro, do you know who did not let ordinary peasant in Pakistan benefit from Land Reforms introduced by different governments ?? ..... The Mullahs !!! ........ Land Reforms have been declared un-Islamic by the Shariat Appellate Bench of the Supreme Court of Islamic Republic of Pakistan (Qazalbash Waqf v. Chief Land Commissioner, Punjab and others – reported as PLD 1990 SC 99) ..................

Well, what can I say .... I've said before that Ulema Su are in helm. History is full of such who sided with kings and issued fatwas accordingly, for their personal gains.

I do not need to look at Islam wearing glasses of 300 or so years old man made concepts of liberalism and Secularism.

No one is stopping you from being a fool who does. Wear whatever glasses and have whatever bias you want to understand the words of Allah.

I encourage you to use your brain whereas your name-calling suggests the traits of your being catering to your preconceived notion which is another word for it; bias. It is shame that you are against the utility of brain which endorses free-thinking.

People who are interested to know what An Islamic state would look like

"In August 1941, Quaid-e-Azam went to Hyderabad (Deccan) and there gave and interview to the students of the Usmania University.

The replies he gave to the questions asked by the students explain in a nutshell the genesis and the ideology of Pakistan in such a comprehensive way that, in my opinion, nothing further would be required to understand these basic foundations. Here are extracts from that interview:

Question: What are the essential features of religion and a religious State?

Answer: When I hear the word 'religion', my mind thinks at once, according to the English language and the British usage, of private relation between man and God. By I know fully well that according to Islam, the word is not restricted to the English connotation. I am neither a Maulvi nor a Mulla, nor do I claim knowledge of theology. But I have studied in my own way, the Holy Quran and Islamic tenets. This magnificent Book is full of guidance respecting all human life, whether spiritual or economic, political or social, leaving no aspect untouched.

Question: What is the distinctive feature of Islamic State?

Answer: There is a special feature of the Islamic State, which must not be overlooked. There, obedience is.... Due to God and God alone, which takes practical shape in the observance of the Quranic principles and commands. In Islam, obedience is due neither to a king, nor to a parliament, nor to any other organisation. It is the Quranic provisions, which determine the limits of our freedom and restrictions in political and social spheres. In other words, Islamic State is an agency for enforcement of Quranic principles and injunctions."

"In his Presidential Address delivered at the Annual Session of the All-India Muslim League, Delhi, on April 24, 1943, he (Jinnah) said: Here, I should like to give a warning to the landlords and capitalists who have flourished at our expense by a system which is so vicious, which is so wicked and which makes them so selfish that it is difficult to reason with them. (Tremendous applause) The exploitation of the masses has gone into their blood. They have forgotten the lessons of Islam. Greed and Selfishness have made these people subordinate to the interests of others in order to fatten themselves. It is true we are not in power today. You go anywhere to the countryside. I have visited villages. There are millions and millions of our people who hardly get one meal a day. Is these civilisations this aim of Pakistan Cries of no, no) Do you visualise that millions have been exploited and cannot get one meal a day. If that is the Idea of Pakistan, I would not have it. (Cheers). If they are wise they will have to adjust themselves to the new modern conditions of life. If they won't, God helps them: we shall not help them. (Hear, hear renewed cheers and applause.) (Speeches and writings of Jinnah, Vol. I, p-554)."

This interview was allegedly published by the Orient Press. But as accepted by the translator himself:

"Despite our best efforts, we have never located the original English transcript of this interview as reported by the Orient Press news agency ... " (p. 8)

These lot only believe in the one speech from 47, and that too the misinterpretation of it as the SOLE basis for their argument.

They won't believe in anything else including these, state bank speech etc etc ... even what the Hindus of those days said about Pakistan being an Islamic State.

No problem they have the right to their opinion.

The document I posted doesn't say anything like what you are saying.

Liberals and Secular need to get thing in there mind that is Pakistan was and is and will always will be Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Sooner or later Shariah law will be established in Pakistan whether our seculars like it or not and those creating hurdles would be dealt with like state is dealing with Blasphemes currently.

Agreed.

The only uniting factor for people of this land called Pakistan is Islam, and that is it - unity by language, race etc simply does not apply here. Islam is the only basis for the creation of Pakistan, land for all where laws ordained by Allah are supreme. Islam is the core identity of all muslims on this land.

Liberal secularism would break up Pakistan, as these systems will remove the only uniting factor and identity, and that is Islam.

. .
It's a poor attitude to have. Secularists have a much right to exist in Pakistan as anyone else.

.
So national consensus on the nature of Pakistan will be determined by Hindu extremists next door? What sort of a reactionary policy is that? Pakistan must be able define itself by itself, not by others.

Jinnah said 'Hindu is incorrigible' when he had given up politics and practicing law in UK ... and when he returned he was fully onboard with Iqbal and pushed only for a new country. Hindu's attitude lead to Muslims demand for own land, despite 2 decades of Jinnah's earlier attempts of reconciliation. That was then and the present Hindu's attitude will be that extra push (along with the liberal secular voices combined with Mullah brigade/Ulema Su) leading to the full fledged formation of the true Islamic State in Pakistan.

Whilst Iqbal had written 'Musalman Ko Musalman Kar Diya Toofan-E-Magrib Ne' and that can still be witnessed in the Western world,

and soon

'Musalman Ko Musalman Kar Day Ga Toofan-E-Mashrik' that'll happen to muslims of Pakistan.
