Secret Iranian Nuclear Bombs

As far as Europe is concerned, if America will ask UK to jump then it will only ask how high. The only possible opposition to a military assault will be from Germany and/ or France. The only viable force that can stop Americans to attack yet another country in the region is Russia which might have to be very blunt and assertive in stopping Americans from attacking. The test is also on the brinkmanship of the Iranians that need to give up the rhetoric and talk substance and show reason. Strangely the world’s most articulate, smart and fluent speaker and the most powerful leader is very quiet. Once again the Dogs of War in America seem to be running the show.

Sir,

your post was an absolute treat to read.

However I have some questions:
Do you think that the Americans can actually afford to open another war front?

I mean, I know that Iran is no match against the US armed forces, but Iran won't simply remain quiet after its nuclear facilities are bombed. It'll start shooting missiles at neighboring Arab countries hosting US bases, and possibly at Israel. And not only that, the various cells can cause trouble for many there.

Even for the world's most powerful military, it was long and hard to actually occupy and control Iraq. In the end, they even had to make alliances with former enemies to calm the situation.

And given this, how will the Americans take care of such a potentially dire situation? And given that the global economy isn't in great shape, how on earth would that make the world better? It is far from a total recovery.

Or are we seeing the works of a few madmen?

I won't dispute the rest of the content you've said. Iran and Turkey are some of the most advanced nations in the Muslim World.

Fingerprints to develop a nuclear warhead? Interesting. Russia and Pakistan? It's possible.

But USA? Can you explain that? Or are they remnants from the Shah era? Was he ever interested in acquiring nukes?

well, you can dispute if you want, I can provide reputable references for any of my claims. I won't mind if you dispute them.

Operation Merlin is an alleged United States covert operation under the Clinton Administration to provide Iran with a flawed design for building a nuclear weapon in order to delay the alleged Iranian nuclear weapons program.

In his book State of War, author and intelligence correspondent for The New York Times, James Risen claims that the CIA chose a defected Russian nuclear scientist to provide deliberately flawed nuclear warhead blueprints to Iranian officials in February 2000. Operation Merlin backfired when the nervous Russian scientist noticed the flaws and pointed them out to the Iranians, hoping to enhance his credibility and to protect himself against retaliation by the Iranians, while still advancing what he thought was the CIA plan to use him as a double agent inside Iran. Instead, the book alleges, Operation Merlin may have accelerated Iran's nuclear program by providing useful information, once the flaws were identified, and the plans compared with other sources, such as those presumed to have been provided to the Iranians by A. Q. Khan.

It's due to your ignorance and lack of information that you think serious nerve agent attacks have never really occurred. more than 100,000 Iranian soldiers were gassed by the Iraqi forces in the Iraq-Iran war by chemical weapons like VX,G-series (GB(Sarin), Cyclosarin,Tabun), ... and still many Iranian soldiers are suffering from the consequences of chemical warfare, like leukemia, various other types of cancers, respiratory problems, etc.

Do you believe me stupid? I am aware of the chemical attacks Iraq perpetrated. But there has never been a full-scale exchange, using modern and effective methods, of the more extreme nerve agents. Both the USA/NATO and the USSR prepared for this, and if it had happened, it would have made the Iraq gas incidents look small and insignificant.

We still have no data on any sort of full-scale use.

Do you believe Iran did not respond because of some moral stance? Or was it perhaps that Iran had no adequate stockpile, and/or delivery system? And your own description shows the horrors of their use; something mankind needs to avoid. For some reason we still don't fully understand, Germany ended WW2 with large stocks of nerve agents. Even with Berlin burning, they held back.

Maybe because Germany realized that had it used the nerve agents, the USSR would have butchered all 50 million Germans and granted none the right to surrender.
