No where it says that China as launched just 2 satellites. The report said China recently launched two satellites for its own system.(referring to the April launch). Chinese compass is not yet fully operational and still in beta phase. Reporting is accurate. You lots need to open your eyes nice and wide, keep your superiority complex aside and then try reading.

China's system had been functioning for years. Beidou helped a lot after the rescue of Sichuan earthquack in 2008.

Now you can buy a Beidou terminal like this at Alibaba for about $30.

The Beidou navigation system has been widely used in fishing industry. Here is a picture of the track of a fishing boat on a Beidou terminal. The white line is the sea boarder between China and NKorea.

From your own post, the first date of your "LM-3A BeiDou-1A GEO 59°E ? BeiDou-1" is 10/31/2000

"LM-3B Compass-M3" and "LM-3B Compass-M4" have been launched on the same day i.e.,04/29/2012 which adds up to two satellites which have been launched recently!!

Beidou will start covering service in Asia Pacific by the end of this year and the world in 2020!

GPS - USA - status: operational

GLONASS - Russia - status: operational

the indian stmt was only 2 working and operational GPS systems exixt in the world ritenow..
