What's new

Saudis are rich!!!

Wow! Now try to imagine what his majesty King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz's royal palace might look like...
"Sesame, open the door," PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE... :smitten:

The Arab states have invested all of their oil wealth into vein dealings.

Only when it runs out will they see the recompense of their stupidity.

Dubai I think is a mistake. But what's wrong with average Saudis to have a better living if they have the money?

I am not against a good standard of living. However, the Arabs will not be able to afford such luxuries once their precious oil runs out.

They have failed miserably to plan ahead, and in the forcible future their outlook is grim.

With their oil money they could have invested much into research and development, they could have built hundreds of factories, research centres, the world’s best institutions of learning etc, but to this day they prefer to buy most of their goods rather than becoming self sufficient.

Dubai in fact has tried to address this reality albeit in vein. It has invested much into its tourism and foreign investment bids for this very reason. Its one huge Disney land, one huge oasis for the rich; they are once again relying on foreigners.

The Arab outlook is grim, end of story.

I think Arabs situation might be more complex than just a bad planning or not trying to be self-sufficient.

UAE's Dubai is a typical Arab case that they are jewed, I am not going into details on that.

Now Saudis. For a very long time, Saudis can't say no. They sit on a pile of something everyone wants, they also have their political limitations to be taken advantage of. They have to play the cards they were dealt to for a long time, that is, they don't have their own cards (free thinking) to play, before Pakistan detonated the first Islamic bomb.

I think Saudis have all the ideas you said they were lacking, for a long time, they just can't do it for political reasons. Had they steadfastly pursued them, the effort would backfire and hurt them. Now it seems to me they are finally capable of doing what they believe is right. Chinese are helping them to setup infra-structures and in another news building schools for 150,000 Saudi children. These ain't Chinese ideas, they are Saudi's, just for a long time they can't do it without the Islamic bomb.

That's one of the reason why in recent years Pakistan has become such a hot pot. Non friendly forces will be trying everything to take out their Islamic bombs. If Pak lose their bombs, Saudis will revert to yes man again.

It was not Saudi ruler's fault, they are right on `they can't do anything'. They were just hijacked for a long time.

Never under-estimate anyone, especial that anyone is a King. :cheesy:

Soudi Arabia is a rich country and they are rich bcoz of oil. sit down make money as easy as that.

rich people and poor people are everywhere; showing only the rich doesnt make that country super duper. Era of oil is over and hopefully 21st century would be run by green fuel. If they wont invest in an alternate way to make money then the dooms day is comming for them. I think they have a huge pottential to make money from solar energy like Bill Clinton mentioned and funny part is.......that too would be sitting down make money.

PS: the lady got one good american accent tho.;)

I do not think armed forces will wait untill the last drop of oil to dry up. IMO they will be the one more concerned about Oil dependancy on others as its a matter of natinal security.

yes it will be a hardcore transformation but inevitable.
