Saudi narrates her 21-year ordeal in Pakistan

I read this story earlier as well, i am sure Man still be walking free as this is shameful state of our justice system. Hope the man gets killed in gang-war of Karachi and body thrown in gutter.

If he is in Karachi that increases his rate of survival each criminal dies for hundreds of innocents there.

Dear, is the Pakistani justice system really that bad or are we just talking about exaggeration? And how big a problem is the organized crime in cities such as Karachi? Are there criminal gangs such as the Sicilian Mafia, Yakuza in Japan, Chinese Mafia, Russian Mafia, all the Latin American gangs etc. present in Pakistan? Are we talking about such organized and big groups?

Has the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Pakistan not raised this issue with the Pakistani leadership? KSA-Pakistani ties are excellent and close so both countries such cooperate on such matters.

I gather from all this that he is probably not captured.

The justice system is surely inefficient even when criminals and terrorists are caught they still manage to leave scot free partly because of many loopholes in the judiciary and partly because of the network they have established all over. Various branches of talibans and then other criminal aspects who use their terror to further their own agenda i myself when once visted Karachi recently after years had to go through a very unfortunate incident. Its all inter connected militants indoctrinating people into such things the only difference is we haven't attacked their motive that strengthens them so they multiply with each passing day. And as far as Pakistani leadership goes if they really want to ensure peace and justice to the people they would have to take independent, risky and some even unpopular decisions which sadly they aren't capable of.

It's not inefficient but for sale, You have to purchase justice and should be able to pay higher price than your opponents

Well, that is an unacceptable state of security and justice then. The military has always pulled the strings from behind in Pakistan so this surprises me. I mean even WHEN they catch them they are often not judged properly?

Well, I am glad that you are safe.

Anyway not to change the topic too much then I am sure that we all can conclude that this is one very unfortunate case for all parties involved and hope for justice to prevail. Not much more to say I guess.

The Chinese Mafia are called the Triads.

Despite their reputation, they don't actually take their war to the streets. Mostly they are just businessmen who deal in stolen or pirated goods.

They don't target innocents, since that would bring unnecessary attention from the police, which is bad for business.

The gangs in Karachi on the other hand, for some reason they don't seem to fear law enforcement, and they don't seem to care whether or not their activities are good for business or not.

Someone needs to come in with an iron hand to sort them out.

Its bad - If you know someone & you've got the money for it...you'd probably go scot free !

Heck about a year ago - a 18-20 year old guy was killed by another guy (presumably an acquaintance) on reacting angrily when that other guy & his friend were teasing the guy's sister ! So this 'other guy' - the son of a landlord & a very influential person - goes to the guy & its his sister's weeding & shoots him to death !

Then the other guy runs off to Dubai whilst the guy's dad (a police officer) gets a case registered against the other guy !

No one gives a foOk for a time before the Media, the Civil Society & most of us - the normal activists - take him the guy's cause & ask for the other guy to be prosecuted !

The Pressure gets the Chief Justice of Pakistan into the Case with him demanded that the Other Guy be brought back from Dubai so the Other Guy is indeed brought back & prosecuted & sentenced to death along with his friend/servant (whatever he was) !

But the Other Guy says that hes Under-Age & a medical test confirms that he isn't 18 yet so he does't get Life but his friend does !

After a while the family of the guy happen to 'forgive' the other guy of the murder in return for blood money - I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact the guy's dad was a simple police officer with daughters in an unforgiving society if you're in trouble & not particularly connected & the other guy's dad was an influential feudal landlord with sh*t loads of cash & influence !

Thankfully the Supreme Court has said that the Other Guy & his friend cannot be forgiven & the case remains open - Lets see what happens !

But this is one of hundreds if not thousands of such cases in Pakistan !

I've even heard of people having served a life sentence in jails on stealing something worth as trivial as $10 not because they were sentenced to life but because they stayed behind bars for years till their turn came up for their case to be heard by the Court !

Organized Crime in other cities of the country aren't that big a problem but Karachi for the past few years is like the Sao Paulo of a time when organized criminals were running things there !

The problem is that those in Government over there are often alleged to be in-bed with the Criminals therefore one can imagine the ease with which the criminals are able to move about unhindered !

What we need is a Targeted Operation in Karachi to take care of them !

Right now the Rangers - a paramilitary force of the Pakistan Army - are conducting an operation in Karachi but they're without any teeth & they are working under the same Government that governs Karachi so go figure !

If the Army steps in, like it did in the '90s - No one will be spared but the Army is, right now, busy with a lot of other sh*t to commit itself there as well !

@ Why are Pakistanis and Indians showing sympathy for Arabs? You have any idea how Pakistan/Bangladeshi/Indian migrant workers are treated in Mid East?

Well you're talking about Shahzeb's murder case and his father though he said he forgave the man yet at one occasion he himself said that he had other daughters as well so i can't imagine the kind of pressure that he must have had to bear. The only thing that made him stop was that he would not want to lose his daughters and the rest of his family after losing a son.
I don't know if the operation has done any good either or not we keep hearing that the situation is getting better but what to expect when political parties have military wings there and the moment you do something against them there is a huge hue and cry and they start playing the victim card.

Not for Arabs, for humans. Even if some Arabs treat the people of Pakistan, India or Bangladesh badly that isn't reason enough for anyone to do the same to other victims. Whether she was an Arab, Indian or Martian for that matter she was just a fourteen year old girl who went through unimaginable suffering that nobody should have to go through.
