in the old past in Europe they were even doing sex with kids, but in the worst period of their history
as well i know from the old people that not a long time ago in Iran girls 12yo marry with 30yo guys... it doesn't mean they have sex. they wait the girl can do it.. well it depends on the man.
all this is of course for most people something disgusting or something that is sticked to the past, still some people do it...
it is good to remind them they are wrong and childs should be respect and have all their childhood with another matters to worry than a husband, sex , work at home for the husband... but have a kid life: study, fun, and so.

this is not only about a few saudis sadly. we hear this for many countries.

Child marriage is banned in india and any one who acts sexually with a minor will get life time prison punishment...

Its not right to take a girls childhood... and it doesnt matter if he has $$$ with her or he waits,but legalizing minor marriage is disgusting and that man should be ashamed of his life ,and if he has a 10 years old girl child,would he marry her to a 24 years old guys??? isn't it odd and lame?

Unfortunately, this kind of thinking is not uncommon across the world.

The age of consent in many South American/European countries is 12. The reason I know is because there was a big media case of prosecuting Americans travelling abroad for underage sex.

10 year old mothers make it to the news in US because they are still a rarity. Can you say the same for Pakistan ? My mom ( who used to teach in a Pakistani ) school had to deal with parents who wanted take their 13 yr old, 15 yr old daughters back to Pakistan for marriage. I remember she used to come back home so frustrated and shaking with rage whenever she had to recall encounters with such parents.

First of all, I don't have a daughter so your point is mute. Second the law set by the Mufti is not against the regulations of Islam, that is the most important point that needs to be considered. Islam is a religion that has no innovation, its rules were set down clearly. If you have a problem, fair enough but don't force your beliefs on to others.
