If he has diplomatic immunity he'll probably be let off.....Pretty gruesome and SICK minded thing to do though - a mother and his daughter held as hostage and sexually assaulted. Un-Islamic and inhumane.

Sadly - such gang-rapes and assaults on women are a common reality throughout india. Whether its a diplomat or whether its people like those bastards on that bus in delhi - there needs to be repercussions for this kind of stuff

Diplomatic immunity is only for the act which are done for the business they are sent here, i.e. diplomacy...The diplomatic immunity is not for something which was done intentionally and for the crime as serious as this. These ambassadors or diplomats cannot take local law for granted.

if the Saudis stripped him of his immunity (which i doubt they would) and gave the go-ahead to indian govt to prosecute him then that would be that...otherwise he'll just be persona non grata and given a day or two to pack and leave

they should at least financially compensate the victims....though money doesnt get rid of traumas

If India pressures KSA, they can strip him off diplomatic status and extradite him back to India after.

This is what Singapore did in a high profile case involving an East-European drunk driving crime.

However KSA will have to agree to do this...and if he is even remotely related to royal family....fat chance of that happening.

india lacks the leverage to pressure KSA........ask nicely

MEA seeks report on rape charges against Saudi diplomat | Zee News

New Delhi: The External Affairs Ministry has sought a detailed report on the alleged incident involving a diplomat at the Saudi Arabia embassy in New Delhi who has been booked for rape.

A Saudi diplomat, reported to be of First Secretary rank, has been booked for rape while his wife and daughter have been booked for torturing domestic helps in Gurgaon, Haryana Police have said. The diplomat was not named.

The ministry will get into the picture in case the police file charges and need to interrogate the person, said official sources.

The Saudi embassy has dismissed the charges against the diplomat as "completely false" and "contrary to facts in our possession", and said they would wait for the Indian government to clarify the matter as per diplomatic norms.

The diplomat and some of his friends and guests have been booked for raping, gang-raping two Nepali women while his wife and daughter have been booked for torturing the victims.

The Gurgaon police had registered cases against the diplomat and "unknown people" said to be the diplomat`s friends on Tuesday at the DLF-2 police station under sections of gang-rape (376 D), rape (376), unnatural sex (377) and some other sections of Indian Penal Code including 342, 323 and 120B (conspiracy)..

No arrests have been made so far.

i do understand the reasons behind this immunity bro but there must be some way out, In this case the victims are Nepalese and the offender is saudi and the place of crime is India

There is no other way round. To keep your diplomats safe in other countries, the diplomatic immunity is a must. Unless the country of the diplomat decides to withdraw his immunity, there is nothing one can do. At worst, he can be declared a persona non grata and sent home.

Okay? So they've been booked but no arrests have been made so far.

Also confused about the wives joining in on torturing the maids....either they were unaware their husband was raping these poor women, or this was some really freakishly bizarre "gang" rape

Unfortunately that is a necessary evil. The pluses of having diplomatic immunity far outweigh such isolated cases of people using its loopholes.

I'm all for breaking off all diplomatic and trade relations with wahabi arabia, we can buy oil from Iran or even the US, Russia etc

this 1 case aside, we should block all funds from there reaching religious institutions here

poisonous country, poisonous nazi like religious ideology and snakes as diplomats, snakes as rulers.. time to say good bye forever and program Nejd and Riyadh coordinates into Agni 5 systems.

That's the harsh reality of this so called modern era i guess . What's the difference between these monsters or those pre Islamic era's barbarians 1400 years ago ?? Nothing.... Every single individual is answerable to God Almighty of all his acts on this planet...if these Saudis claim to be "Pure or original Muslims" than they should also be given exemplary punishments by all means...other wise no such thing as trust or faith will remain in this world...gotta feel for such crushed souls man...!!

The amazing thing is that Saudi gets so much bad press despite their Ministry trying so hard to keep their public image clean. The complaints keep coming from ordinary people, yet nothing in the kingdom ever changes, they never think that they might be wrong, or need to "change their ways" it's all like water of a ducks back.

They do ?

The Diplomatic Immunity should extend only to the diplomat - I doubt it extends to his wife, family and friends.
