@UKBengali
@bluesky
@Khan2727

LOL!

.
Going back on topic.

The Gulfies talk, talk and talk but I cannot recall them ever investing a cent in BD.

It seems they are talkers but not doers.

BD companies themselves are now investing billions per year to create thousands of jobs and so Gulfie investments are not required.

.
Aah 3 month news cycle ...right on que...

Saudi arabia should be thanked for employing BD expats but should also be reminded that our people work hard and it is a mutually advantageous deal. The $3.5b remittances are money that belongs to BD, its not Saudi charity.
They came here to talk hot air, and fill their bellies with famous dhaka birani for free.

. .
Saudi Arabia investment will likely be in the sector they are good at :

1. Oil and Gas exploration
2. Chemicals (including oil refinery).
3. Construction ( office building, apartment, and so on)

That kind of level of investment Saudi will enter, it will be different when Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan investment that will be more on car, electronics, smelter, semiconductor, engine, EV battery etc

Indonesia for example will try to lure Saudi investment in our new capital construction

The Saudi were gifted everything by The Creator, with all that black gold. If they were more wise i believe Saudi could be the most technologically advanced society on Earth today. Insted they got the Holland Fever and wrecked every other potential industrial sector than Oil and Gas.

For all his bad reputation, MBS actually seem to have understood this. It far better to use oil
money to develop Saudi industry and tech, than to pay 10000 princes and princesses a fortune daily so that they can buy useless luxury goods like gold-plated Bugatti or Rosegold Wasseclosett or something like that.

Why is a Pakistani dude getting upset at describing Arabs for what they are?

BD used to be the centre of the richest area on this planet 3 centuries. The wealth of Mughal India was from the Bengal sub-division centred in Dhaka.

The Arabs are lucky to have oil and gas and BD will absolutely regain it's status over that backward culture in 15-20 years from now as it develops it's economy and technology further.

They may impress you but not people from one of the richest and technologically advanced areas 3 centuries ago - Bengal had already started proto-industrialisation when the British arrived and its ship technology was the most advanced in the world at the time that they used it in their ships in Waterloo.

Defending Arabs? Hmm. anything to do with sharing a similar mindset I wonder.:azn:

There is "baper desher lok" among Pakistanis too. Just look at his posting history, whole day and night he is posting about Arabs, always has the boot polish with him.

Arab: Ya miskeen, where are you. Polish my boot.

Baper desher lok: I come saar, I use my tongue saar, better than boot polish saar...

Arab: Kicks in the backside, why you late ya miskeen

Baper desher lok: I come fast saar, bangla miskeen make me late saar....

Saudi investment will be in a castle in the air in BD. Soon shall we offer visa to the rest of the ummah to come see the castle, 8th wonder of the world.

Al Sissi said, "they have money like rice" and smartly milked them, the Arab effect worked to his side I guess. We are not Arabs and want nothing to do with Arabs apart from salam, walaikum salam, hajj and umrah visas. We don't need their investment but we do need them to stop engaging in verbal diarrhea every 3 months. It's very irritating.

Actually bengal-Bangladesh was the richest place from around 4-5 centuries. Bangladesh would most likely to continue to be one of the richest places on earth had the British no arrived.

Bangladesh was the only place in South Asia to also declare alligence to the caliphate.

As it even showed early signs of industrialisation even before the British.

We will get there again with the help of Allah. Arabi chutiyas will go back to their original ways, loving goats in the middle of the desert.

This is the critical point.

The wealth and technology of Mughal India was in fact that of BD in essence. Rest of the sub-continent was never that well off compared to Europe during the Mughal period.

BD will again show that it is an advanced and prosperous culture. Bad luck with history has reduced it to poverty and that is no indication on the quality of BD culture and abilities.

Yeah, Mr Bonesaw seems to at least understand that the gravy train of oil will not continue forever and actually making an effort to do something about it. How successful his efforts will be is still up in the air.

The baper desher loks should read Ibn Batuta before blabbering how poor Bengal is and how rich the Arabs are from oil money. One of their very own from their baper desh visited Bengal and wrote what he saw.

I can tell you that Arab culture and abilites will absolutely make sure that even a well-run Saudi will never become a developed state.

They simply lack the inherent qualities to be an advanced society in the 21st century. What happened 1000 years ago with pre-industrial age is irrelevant.

Out of the world today I would say only Europeans, East Asians, Turks, Iranians, some S Asians like BD'shis and potentially Gujaratis can create technologically advanced societies. The others simply cannot for multiple reasons.

আরে না ভাই। These chutiyas have a "leadership khayesh syndrome" while they are the most incompetent chutiyas in the world.

Nothing much happened 1000 years ago. The Arabian peninsula was never a civilized place so much so that the Romans and Persians fought each other for thousands of years, yet they never even tried to conquer that place, there was nothing to gain by conquering it. It is only after the advent of Islam, the new religious zeal that drove the pious Sahaba (RA) to rapidly conquer territory. After their demise the Arabs drove it into the ground fairly quickly, while it lasted they depended entirely on the Persians for running the state affairs because the Persians converted Muslim bureaucrats and technocrats had the experience of running an empire while the Arabs were good for nothing primitive bedouins. The Umayyah didn't last very long, the Abbasid lost power pretty quickly with all Muslim territories declaring independence under sovereign sultans while paying token homage to the Khalifah in Baghdad. The rest of the Islamic history is the history of the Mamluks, Seljuks, Tatars, Afghans, Persians, Mughals and the Turks. Yes, the Umayyah managed to rule Al-Andalus (Spain) for quite some time but that was an exception.

Well I am not entirely sure about that. While I don't like them very much, I don't want bad for them either as fellow Muslims. So I wish them very very good luck while I want good for my country too.

Nothing to do with wishing them bad.

It is just the way things are and no Arab country can ever become an industrialised state by becoming a knowledge based society.

There is a combination of genetic and cultural qualities that you need to become developed in the 21st century and at least half of humanity lacks it currently.

Not politically correct to say it but just the way that reality is.
