Saudi Arabian companies to invest $10b in Bangladesh

The baper desher loks should read Ibn Batuta before blabbering how poor Bengal is and how rich the Arabs are from oil money. One of their very own from their baper desh visited Bengal and wrote what he saw.

I think it also comes from his own fear that BD will absolutely leave the rest of S Asia behind and his belief that Pakistan was in any way comparable to BD, let alone "superior", will be soon blown away as BD economy races ahead of the rest of S. Asia.

If BD is much superior to Gulfies that he thinks is superior to Pakistans, then of course BD must be superior to Pakistan and Pakistanis.

Multiple bad reasons of history means that BD somehow has ended up as poor as the rest of S Asia when throughout history it was far more advanced and wealthy society.

Nothing to do with wishing them bad.

It is just the way things are and no Arab country can ever become an industrialised state by becoming a knowledge based society.

There is a combination of genetic and cultural qualities that you need to become developed in the 21st century and at least half of humanity lacks it currently.

Not politically correct to say it but just the way that reality is.

I get what you are saying but the word "Ever" contains too long a period.

Yes, I think the same. I had a long discussion with this baper desher lok few weeks back about this matter. You can read it here https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/futu...f-possible-new-purchases.747374/post-13907698. Do read the long exchange and try to understand what kind of baper desher lok this creature is and how delusional he is. Clue: He claims Pakistan is already ahead of BD and has a 2/3 times GDP the size of BD, he has some 'research' to back it up too. @UKBengali

But it's not exclusively that, there is a large population in Pakistan who do the পা'বন্দি বা গোলামি of Arabs. There are a few Pakistanis who call them out sometimes but it seems spineless creatures are a reality in every nation unfortunately.

I agree with this part however I personally always like to blame myself for any failure even though it may have been exacerbated by external factors. We have to shoulder our share of the blame for being colonized.

Going back on topic.

The Gulfies talk, talk and talk but I cannot recall them ever investing a cent in BD.

It seems they are talkers but not doers.

BD companies themselves are now investing billions per year to create thousands of jobs and so Gulfie investments are not required.

Even if we need foreign investment (which I think we do to a healthy dose), we don't need Arab investment. Our future is in the East. Historically the east, e.g. China, Sumatra, Java and other parts of South East Asia were our trading partners. Arab merchants came to Bengal in droves to buy goods, so did the Romans but we never depended on the Arabs or anybody else for investment. We should confine our relationship with the Arabs to salam, walikum salam, drinking tea/coffeee in OIC and finishing off all enemies of the ummah through mouth cannon and Hajj/Umrah vias. That's all.

Arab: Ya miskeen, where are you. Polish my boot.

Baper desher lok: I come saar, I use my tongue saar, better than boot polish saar...

Arab: Kicks in the backside, why you late ya miskeen

Baper desher lok: I come fast saar, bangla miskeen make me late saar....
Not even a century ago when people from our part of the world went to hajj they use to bring sadaka for poor arabs of saudi. Now times have changed and they found black gold, but this will not last them another 50 years.

They better invest smartly now or soon will go back to stone ages.

Agree that BD has some blame but it was "back-stabbed" by traitorous S Asian multiple times.

In the mutiny of 1857 the Bengal regiments were at the forefront of the rebellion and it was some other S Asians that betrayed the region and sided with the British.

UK knew that only the Bengalis were a threat to their rule over S Asia and that is why they seeked to reduced Bengali power in S Asia, both economically and militarily.

Yes but I was referring to Palashi in 1757. It was our fault to a great extent. But then again the Islamic world became stagnant and the Europeans were marching ahead, so the destiny couldn't have been avoided.
