Saudi Arabia to deal ‘strictly’ with female drivers

See that last part of the statement is what matters.

So long as there are young saudi guys, who have education behind them and challenging the religious statuesque
the society will improve.

It's not about religion here. Religion is just used as a political cover. If this law gets abolished a dozen of others will and when that happens the clergy will loose their political power and all they will be left with is their importance in religious matters or when you go to the mosque.

This will happen eventually but they are just dragging the inevitable and making a mockery out of themselves. The public demands this law to get removed. Even those that are against would want to remove the law if they were among people who wanted this law to be removed. They are just afraid of the consequences and the risks. If the law was abolished tomorrow you would have millions of women who would be lining up in the doors of driving schools.

I keep calling this a "law" but basically it is not even a law. Nowhere does it say that women are not allowed to drive it just says that women cannot take a driver license. Same shit, I know but still. Whoever invented this recent law needs a big kick to his balls.

Its totally the opposite in my family. My father can barely drive anymore. He used to be an ok (but not great) driver.
My mom on the other hand has always been a great driver. She drive not only safely but also smoothly. With my father its a bumpy ride. No smooth transmission or driving.
My brothers arent that good either. They just dont drive smoothly.

I drive really smooth. My sister says Im the best driver in the family, but imo I think my mom is. And I am nr. 2. :D
My dad is last.

LOL. The ME upbringing might have something to do with this. Our drivers are basically an accident waiting to happen.

Of course I was just generalizing here but my impression is indeed that women are worse drivers. It probably also has to do with the physiology here.

LOL. I don't know who the best driver is in our family. We need to do a test somewhere at a secluded highway one day. Or us siblings when we reach the pension age if we live that long.

I am surprised that nobody has posted any drifting/driving videos from KSA yet.

This is actually a good video. Almost 400.000 views. Not about drifting or anything.

This is though:

No these... They exist always in a group like viruses - one species of degenerate -.

I'm much sentimental and does not support pretenses.

They all needs to be decapitated in public square - mens or womens, all their allies - even if they are one million. :butcher:

First of all this "law" is something recent just like Hai'ah. It's not part of our millennium old culture or traditions. They (this particular "law" and the Hai'ah) are used as tools for political power. Now for a very, very, very tiny part of our overall history this has been the status quo but sooner rather than later (I say less than 10-5 years) this will be gone and forgotten.

The problem is that despite some unfortunate laws (mostly in KSA) the people of the GCC live better lives on average than pretty much ANYONE else on planet earth. Economically wise, in terms of safety, luxury, abilities etc. It's only the political freedom that suffers. You can't complain about anything else. So not many are going to risk too much but if only 5% of the population became really vocal about this "law" then it would be gone in an instant.

Of course this does not change the fact that women are horrible drivers on average and that practically every woman in KSA can get around in a car anyway and I know for fact that many are driving regardless of this on a normal week.

.
After sitting with my wife in a car being driven by her on a few ocassions, I wish that we were living in Saudi Arabia :undecided:

Oh, It's so cute. I will cry…

You must call a cat, a cat. Their - these foul creatures and their supporters - blasphemies in God's creation and their perpetual heresy are not recent. They are our poison from the beginning - to all Muslims -.

Women are in general very bad drivers IMO. Just in my immediate family my mother is a much worse driver than my father (she drives safely, LOL) while only 1 of my 3 sisters is what I would call a competent driver. The remaining two are an accident waiting to happen. Even in France and Denmark etc. women drive worse. In May 2013 I had a little road accident due to a brainless woman. But of course I might be a little strict and sexist here. We men can afford to be that from time to time. At least among ourselves.

A video like this is the main reason SA is reinforcing the law agaist women driving. This video sets a bad example, mostly in very conservative Saudi Arabia, since a woman looking like that; with hormones jumping out of her face, a smile that says a lot about her real intentions, her eye rolls, will be considered a road danger in many parts of the world including secular and free Western countries.
I wouldn't say this if she was serious, and driving for the purpose of transportation.

Those two examples have existed for barely 100 years while our ancient Arab/Semitic cultures are several millennium old and probably the oldest of any worth in the world. Excluding apparently the rise of humanity itself in NEARBY Eastern Africa/Horn of Africa. You know what I mean here. Islam is not to blame but corruption is. Where there are humans and power you will have corruption regardless of it happening under ideology/religion/motive x or y.

LOL.

There is nothing remotely bad about it. You can fine tons of videos of Saudi Arabian females driving and not only that but getting applauds from complete strangers next by in cars.

KSA is not that conservative either and one needs to understand the culture and people first. Conservative can be many things.

That video is barely 30 seconds long, the roads in KSA are some of the best in the world and very wide and I doubt that there was any trouble with the traffic due to that. You have millions of people each year who drive recklessly in KSA.

The point is that this law has no cultural or religious backbone in KSA and thus needs to be removed as soon as possible. Regardless of the road safety becoming worse when those women enter the roads.

It has nothing to do with corruption. They are rotten from inside, their souls.

My religion is not it. My religion (Islam) is ‘a religion of peace and love’ to the glory of God, that not all of these degenerates.

Well, I have always stated that it has nothing to do with our religion (Islam) or our culture. I write that they use such moronic laws to control people politically. They just interpret religion to fit into their plans. That's all.

Anyway there is nothing to do but hope that this moronic law gets removed and if we are realistic then it's a small problem compared to what many other people have to face from enormous poverty, diseases, lack of development, illiteracy etc.

But have no illusions my dear brother. Times are changing and quickly and our very young population demands those changes and they better come in a foreseeable future otherwise things can quickly erupt but let's hope not.

.
It's a moronic "law" but in all fairness females are horrible drivers and they don't really suffer from this law either as almost all of them have relatives that can drive them wherever they want to go or afford a private chauffeur/cab driver.

Oh, I was one of those 2700 on that petition. Anyway I am sure that this "law" will be changed in the near future. Hopefully. When that happens I will fear to drive in KSA even more than already.

How are they horrible drivers?

The drive perfectly fine and in fact are better drivers than males because they don't race or do stupid stuff.

This is not my impression. Women are worse drivers than men. This is universally recognized. There are exceptions though but in general they are worse drivers. I would not let a women I don't know drive my car (s).

So when was this "law" () made? And why? And why is law based on some religious clerics' opinions and preferences about how society should be? Mysteries..

Well, I would like to find that out myself but my guess would be that it was one of those "laws" that followed after this event and during the rule of King Faisal.

Grand Mosque Seizure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This event happened the same year that the "Islamic revolution" in Iran occurred and our hardliners (when they saw the initial success of that) wanted their bit of fun and even more influence.

King Faisal being a very religious man welcomed that. Similarly a lot of MB elements form Egypt arrived in KSA and taught at universities, schools etc. because they were against the Arab nationalism that Egypt and other states were an exponent of while KSA's ideology was more about Islamic unity so Arab nationalism was a threat to the House of Saud.

Jordan was unique in the sense that it was a monarchy too but it was more close to Arab nationalism.

I know that women did drive before 1979. Similarly with other things.

Personally I would have preferred a model more alike to the one in Jordan/UAE etc.

Interesting history, it's kind of similar to the 1957 failed coup attempt in Jordan which, if successful, would have led Jordan to become truly like egypt and Syria (which isn't good as you can see how these countries are today), instead it further consolidated the power of the palace and banished the National Socialist Party. Ultimately, it was the loyalty of the bedouin troops which saved the kingdom.
As for Arab Nationalism, Jordan's position has always been clear..
Arab nationalism can survive only through complete equality.... It is in our power as Arabs to unite on all important issues, to organise in every respect and to dispel friction between us... Given sincerity and sound leadership, the Arab League has great potential. It is the anvil on which Arab nationalism must be forged.... Over the need for Arab unity there is no difference of opinion. So, instead of debating an accepted principle, let us debate a practical plan.... Let all of this be undertaken through an active, respected Arab League, in which... danger of domination by any member of the family would be eliminated.

King Hussein I, 1962

The key part of that little speech is "given sincerity and sound leadership", Egypt and Syria back then just didn't understand these principles and constantly tried to destabilize Jordan with Syria actually invading Jordan during the black September events, this is why Arab unity is something that is scoffed at today.

I actually believe that Saudi Arabia will eventually be like the UAE, it's just a matter of time. Perhaps the government fears another Grand Mosque Seizure scenario in which there was sympathies for the terrorists among the national guard (just my hypothesis).
