IMF loans will be loans which needs to be returned whereas Saudi money is investment in Pakistani rupee and repayment will come only in rupee, not in forex. Essentially, it is a free aid to Pakistan.

Saudi investment need not be returned whereas IMF loans have to be returned back in forex only. So, IMF loans are far worse. People generally hesitate going to IMF. Going to IMF would be far worse than getting Saudi aid/investment.

He said that Saudi Arabia is the first country that Pakistan has invited to become a third partner in CPEC and the projects that Saudi Arabia would be investing in will be smoothed out during the Saudi delegation's visit, scheduled for the first week of October.

Now people should understand why all of sudden yanks and their minion India have become hyper active against CPEC.

Saudi joining CPEC is huge. Saudi energy supply to West will now flow towards east, using CPEC. Once the infra is in place, next logical step would be to de-dollarise the energy trade, atleast towards eastern customers.

One would argue as to why China need Saudi oil when Russia is just next door. Two things, China would not like to keep all her eggs in one basket and getting SA towards its side would be huge considering the ongoing trade war between China and America. with SA on our side, most of the Arab world will get inline as well.

When Pakistan says that we will provide protection on both tactical and strategic levels, its not really against Iran but to ensure Saudis that we will not allow any regime change in Saudia when Saudis start to sell their oil to China in some mechanism other then American dollars.

When folks get wealthy (not temporarily rich like actors, sportsmen etc.) they usually start to think how to keep it for a long term!!! And, they start developing their own "mindsets"!!! Now that President Trump (read the White folks who always keeps an eye for others pockets) are after the US treasury bonds owned by the KSA, it's quite plausible that they might start thinking about their own survival!!!
