Azerbaijan is playing and will continue to play an important role in the international arena in the future. It is a bridge between the East and the West, Saudi Arabia's deputy foreign minister, Prince Khaled Bin Saud Bin Khaled told Trend today.

"Azerbaijan is a country that is rapidly developing," he said. "We are pleased with this. Baku is playing and will continue playing an important role both in the international arena and in the region becoming a bridge between East and West."

Regarding the relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, he stressed that these relations are developed and promising. He added that the relations between the two countries began developing from the date of Azerbaijan's independence. Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries which recognized Azerbaijan's independence.

"A strong foundation has been laid by friendly relations between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the prince said. "These relations positively affect the development of the relations between the two countries," he said.

He said Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan have several agreements in trade and political consultations.
An agreement on investment promotion and protection has been recently signed. It will increase investments between the countries and facilitate the conditions for investments.

Regarding holding a meeting of Saudi Arabia's ambassadors to the Asian countries in Azerbaijan, Bin Khaled stressed that it is not a coincidence that Riyadh chose Azerbaijan as the venue for the meeting. Azerbaijan has become the most important country in the region, where Saudi Arabia's ambassadors were able to negotiate and discuss some issues to work more effectively.

"Selecting Azerbaijan as a venue for meeting Saudi Arabia's ambassadors has proved once again how relations are developing between the two countries and the fact that Riyadh considers Azerbaijan as its main partner in the region," he said.

A regular meeting of Saudi Arabia's ambassadors to Asia began in Azerbaijan on Monday.
Dozens of ambassadors from the Asian region attended the meeting. The meeting ended on Wednesday.

it is interesting to see that growing relationship between these two countries... it seems iran along with armenia is getting more isolated than ever; i start to wonder if it will contiune with other turkic countries... as i know Azerbaijan some trade offices in some turkish embassies in africa, and now turkey and azerbaijan start to co-operate in turk-arab relationship, i think it will follow some defence and trade co-operation between those countries; in military it is actually started, turkey based aselsan is now in azerbaijan, kazakhstan and some other arab countries...

Regards.

better to say full support from Iran, russia and France.

Only Iran, And not even full. Turkey signed a deal with Azerbadyan that we will help them if the war with Armenia continues, You only see them as stratetigic nation (Like everythin else you see) Russia cannot reach Armenia in time of war since georgia is in the way and its not connected to the see.
