Saudi Arabia, China on talks about submarine projects

Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, who also acts as Defence Minister, held talks with Chinese Defence Minister General Chang Wanquan on 31/8/16 in Beijing. He is said to have discussed with General Wanquan the possibility of the Saudi General Organization for Military Industries (GOMI) taking part in a project to build a type of a Chinese attack submarine with a Chinese assistance.

So what types of Chinese submarines can these be?

Right move but KSA should think of playing bigger role and they should sign the deal with other GCC members that they would be allowed to use there sea boundaries also for there Navy. That is why I suggest KSA should induct Cruise Missile Destroyers and Frigates. Also Submarines.

So what types of Chinese submarines can these be?

S20 will be good addition. As i said earlier KSA, Pakistan and China can do wonders. We need joint projects for all three form of troops

This time it is about Chinese submarines, or Chinese submarine tech..KSA wants to make its own with the help (read ToT) from China.. this has not been discussed before although in some threads I pointed out to this option following
an analysis of the possibilities with ToT..

They are building a base in Djibouti.. other bases like in Oman would be very practical too..

The fact is all Arab nations need a domestic light weight fighter.. This can be built on the JF-17 platform more easily than other platforms that are in most cases not available with ToT.. The total requirement might exceed 400 fighters..
