Saudi Advanced Electronics Company (AEC) announced Tuesday that it has signed five memorandums of joint cooperation with a number of local, regional and international companies and centers to develop and manufacture a number of systems, parts, and vehicles.

This took place during its participation in the five-day International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2019, which has kicked off in UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi.

According to information given from IDEX, AEC signed a memorandum of cooperation with French Thales Group to manufacture and repair night and thermal cameras.

Its second memorandum was signed with French Photonis company in the areas of support and maintenance of night vision systems while the third was signed with Prince Sultan Center for Defense Studies and Research (PSDSARC) to develop and manufacture passive and hidden radars.

A fourth memorandum was signed with UAE’s Al Seer Group to jointly develop and manufacture of unmanned marine boats and the fifth with Altadrea Manufacturing Company to manufacture and assemble unmanned vehicle parts.

CEO of AEC Abdulaziz al-Duailej said these memorandums of cooperation aim at enriching military industrialization and GDP growth to achieve one of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 that calls for transferring and nationalizing technology.

Duailej pointed out that they will contribute to creating job opportunities, acquiring technical skills, supporting national capacities and empowering them.

AEC participated in IDEX 2019, where it displayed its defense technology capabilities and capacities in the field of various military systems. It also showcased the advanced level and technical qualifications achieved by Saudi cadres.

He stressed the company’s keenness to actively participate in this international exhibition.

“We look forward to participating in the current Saudi pavilion, which is the first of its kind, to highlight the extent to which the Saudi industry's global standards has reached,” he said, adding that the company aims at giving a comprehensive idea of Saudi Arabia being a producer of many advanced military electronic systems.
