Saras back from the brink again as NAL targets 2013 certification

Exactly, NAL needs to prove itself as an Independent Innovator and Manufacturer of Aircrafts, Rather JV with HAL,ISRO and Mahindra

Sir, i believe JV with private sectors can provide good marketing potential both in country and abroad.

on topic, NAL Saras can find big demand from the growing number of private jet owners, and can be a good alternative for less profitable routes for budget airliners. Hope the turbo prop will be replaced by jet engines, that looks weird. :)

Jet Engines would make the aircraft less profitable, Turbo Prop gives better endurance and Mileage and Would be better for Military Operations Like Light Commando Assault team Operations, border surveillance, air ambulance etc etc....

Just a thought, Saras can be modified for light maritime reconnaissance aircraft and also as a platform for DRDO AWACS.

Not for AWACS as it does not have enough room for the equipments and the Control room... Well it can be used as a replacement for Indian Coast Guards And Navies Dornier, and Might be as like a Light Strike Air-sea aircraft
