What's new

San Francisco mayor, US house speaker, exuberant crowd celebrate the city's first new subway for more than 40 years

, but it also came at a cost. Including China being one of the few countries in the world to have a bullet train accident with casualties.

The fact you have to resort to an accident occurred over one decade ago itself shows how safe Chinese trains are, do you know how many air crashes happened during the past 12 years since 2011? and air traveling is believed one of the safest modes of transport, and China boasts over 70% of world total HSR and moves millllions every single day.

Oh and I have been to China and EVERYTHING is an ordeal if you are not Chinese. Such an awful experience.
Generally speaking the people were nice and the halal food shops was some of the best food I have ever had. Still miss it to this day.
How long ago was that and what "ordeal" you experienced?

And?
It still happened. Japan has been running bullet trains for like 50 years and not a single fatality. China ran them for less than a decade and 40 poor souls paid for it.
Oooh, it must burn you up so much inside to be compared unfavourably to Japan.

I left China just as Covid was starting. Thank God I did, CCP was still lying about covid back then.

But Japan had regular train crashes and other countries also had bullet train crashes, no mode of transportation is 100% safe and China' train safety standard is already one of the best in the world, check out how many train crashes and derailment in US.
Besides, China operates over 70% of world total HSR. if you launched one rocket and it's a success, someone else launched 10 rockets but failled one, you can't claim that you are better at rocket launching because your successful rate is 100%.

Everytime you just end up either trolling or hurling personal insult, not a decent debator

There is no insult in recognizing the glorious cultural traditions of China that go back thousands of years, just as I am happy to recognize the great progress being made by China these days, as you keep telling us, endlessly. Did I say anything factually incorrect, because I do debate on facts, not propaganda?

If you do want to debate, let us go back to this post of mine at the beginning of this thread:

Well, what is the problem here? May be the accounting methods, costs of the land and construction overheads are different? Similar to a car that can cost variably in different countries, a direct comparison is not really valid.

I would argue that by any standard, 2 billion dollars to built a less than 3 kilometers long subway in 10 years is a joke.

The difference between the price of access to land in the middle of a desert and the middle of a major city alone can be hundreds of millions of dollars, not to mention construction without disrupting anything major around it would be another factor.

It's only less than 3 kilometers and mostly it's underground, if this cost and speed applies to all US infras, the country's future will look very gloomy, soon will be comparable to real third world countries.

I am happy to let you conclude that the future of USA is gloomy, so you can feel vindicated. After all, USA will make its own future based on its creativity and productivity, just like as always, so it does not really matter what you are so desperate to conclude. :D
