That's fine with me. If you don't find it useful, others will. I realize that people here troll these topics just like any other but I've inquired about this issue in the hopes of having an actual discussion but have no been successful.

My current problem with this is that certain members here on PDF get harassed for stating what they feel. Like the Aussie a few pages back. Also, the denial that there's a problem. I understand that it becomes a pissing contest in here and if you are sick of these threads then simply ignore them and move on but I will continue to post.

If the Aussie got harrased by facts and his misinformation then that is not debating.

My point is have you gone through those threads before? I don't mind you bringing constructive arguments, if that maybe your intention. But you need to be constructive, the things which you have mentioned have been already discussed nail and tooth.

Now when we come to ignoring such threads, have you ever thought that repeated threads on rape will desensitize everyone?

Also, if you could not discuss this particular topic which is open here 24X7, I don't know how you ever be able to in the near future.

When a number of embassies start issuing warnings to their citizens to be aware that it is an issue, then you know it's an issue. When thousands of Indians march out on the streets demanding reform for rape laws, then you know it's an issue. When a number of media outlets (including my local radio station) around the world start covering these stories, then you know it's an issue.

Did I say I support rapes? Did I say it's not an issue? I clearly said, 2 rapes, one alleged rape and one molestation case do not make it a rape wave. There are far more rapes everywhere else, yet, embassies, news reports, etc are being biased against India, acting as if rape is endemic to India.

I've read every single one since I joined and every single page, including this one. I know the facts keep surfacing but the same points that have been debunked against people believe there is no problem also keep surfacing. So apparently this isn't getting through and needs to be talked about it and I will talk about it as long as the mods keep allowing these threads to be opened.

If you're getting desensitized then how is that any of my concern? There are members here that want to voice their opinion. We get new members here all the time that want to contribute. What do I care about what you want?

What I said was that I brought up questions that were not answered. It wasn't an attempt to troll. It was to learn more about the problem.

Like I said earlier. If you don't like my posts or find it not useful, too bad, put me on your ignore list. If people who believe there is no problem keep bringing up things that the other side has talked and argued about then I WILL keep bringing it up regardless of how sensitized you are to the issue.

Maybe but I'm sure there are rapes everywhere. As I said, rape statistics are not 100% reliable. If you want, open a thread about one of those places so people can comment on them. This thread happens to be about India.

The education part is a good start. But rapists are habitual and methodical. Strict punishment might be a solution but also has its risks.
