Phase II will proceed once the production agency and development partner (PADP) has been identified. The ADE officials indicated that the requests for proposals (RFP) would shortly be issued to four vendors which are the Tatas, Larsen and Toubro, Godrej and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited-Bharat Electronics (joint bid) who were chosen out of the 23 firms that responded. Currently, negotiations are underway between these companies and the three Indian armed forces since the private majors are looking for support and commitment from them before they start executing any development and production plans. This is because of the fact that the chosen PADP will also have a financial stake in the Rustom project. The Armed Forces would also be asked to take up a financial stake and the Indian government may have to guarantee that a specific number of Rustom UAVs will be bought. ADE will be the main agency taking up the project and the project coordinator. DRDO laboratories such as DEAL, Dehradun, LRDE, Bangalore and DLRL, Hyderabad will be the other work centers.

it will be good if tata, godrej or L&T takes up production of this UAV...HAL is too much overloaded..

Its has endurance of 35 hours against Global Hawk's 36 hours and will have SATCOM. The 350 km range is for line of sight coverage without SATCOM. So it is more like Global Hawk in terms of endurance.

I was searching for the pic... note the Global Hawk type SATCOM terminal inside the front nosecone of the UAV

Looking Good, is that India's famous Rustom uav which have crashed successfully on its first flight ?

not this one this is RUSTOM-H yet to fly...
the one that crashed was RUSTOM-1 which was technology demonstrator of RUSTOM-M (MALE UAV)

i want to compare it with tiha(turkey)

No Vikram compare it with this babe;

It is called Rutan Long EZ, and it had been in existence since 1970's.
Another fraudulent attempt of “indigenous” work by DRDO exposed.
What they have done is bought the rights to produce this small aircraft.
But not surprisingly, like any other technology, this babe also became quite susceptible in Indian hands.

Specially the sentence,

“Incidentally, the crash occurred on the UAV’s maiden flight after the operators failed to gauge the height of coconut trees in the vicinity. “It misjudged the height of coconut trees and crashed after hitting the trees,” said a DRDO official.

The UAV was the technology demonstrator (TD) of Rustom, developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), under DRDO.

Deccan Herald had reported on Monday that the UAV which had crashed was the TD of Rustom, being tested by DRDO.”

Is there any shame left in the Indians for their claims of “indigenous” weapons?

When in reality, they can not even make the borrowed technology work.:coffee:

^^^ no we are shameless
kya ukhaad loge
no of harsh trollers are more active today

No mate, I am not ignorant but you certainly are, this design had been in production for decades, your DRDO obtained the right to produce it and use it as a UAV. Get your head examine, it is not "indigenous" but once again someone's design and work, same as usual, all the Russian technology always end up as "Indigenous" in Indian hands.:cheesy:

it is a manned aircraft and rustom is unmanned
buddy India can convert any manned aircraft to a uav
be afraid of india

Just for the Indians, and their fake claims of "indigenous" weapons,
Read all about your Rustom, the "indigenous" UAV. :yahoo:

The Rutan Model 61 Long-EZ is a homebuilt aircraft with a canard layout designed by Burt Rutan's Rutan Aircraft Factory. It is derived from the VariEze, which was first offered to homebuilders in 1976. The prototype of the Long-EZ first flew on June 12, 1979.

Changes from the VariEze include a larger main wing with modified Eppler 1230 airfoil and less sweep, larger strakes containing more fuel and baggage storage, slightly wider cabin, and the ability to use a Lycoming 108hp engine with no nose ballast. Plans were offered from 1980-85. As of late 2005, approximately 700 Long EZ's are FAA registered in the USA.

The aircraft is designed for fuel-efficient long-range flight and can fly for over ten hours and up to 2,500 kilometers on 200 liters of fuel. Equipped with a rear-seat fuel tank, a Long-EZ has flown for 7,700 kilometers.
