Russians pushing Yak-130 to India for training FGFA pilots

.
Please, utter BS from the Russians. The HAWK MK.132 is hands-down the most advanced sub-sonic AJT in production. The YAK-130 is sub-sonic (just like the Hawk), the Hawk already has a fully fledged production line in India with full MRO and support infrastructure. The YAK-130 was NOT designed to train pilots on the T-50/PAK-FA/FGFA. With the full mission simulators, part task simulators etc that will be coming with the FGFA, there is very little need for the YAK-130.

As I've been saying again and again, what the IAF desperately needs is a super-sonic LIFT for stage 4 training after the AJT stage. Here the IAF needs to look to a variant of the LCA or an off the shelf solution like the KAI T-50.

And you think Mainstream Media with their sources are more reliable ??

Russian Yak-130 Combat Trainer Eyes Indian Fifth-generation Trainer Market

When it comes to defence even Indian mainstream media $ucks . That is a fact .

Defence experts say it is unlikely IAF will go for new trainers any time soon.

Article its self says the same whats your ponts ??

I meant points ..... :D

And my point is that apart from the vivid imagination of the so called sources , IAF does not actually require Yak .

A T-50 program was quite recently added:
The Yak-130 - the Russian air force's advanced flight and tactical combat trainer - prepares student pilots to fly and fight in the latest frontline fighter and fighter/bomber types, including the RSK MiG-29/35 and Sukhoi's Su-27/30/34/35 series and, in the future, the PAK-FA T-50.
FLIGHT TEST: Yak-130 proves versatility

Developed by Yakovlev design bureau, the Yak-130 is a subsonic, swept mid-wing advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft designed to provide basic and advanced training to pilots for flying fourth and fifth-generation fighter aircraft, such as Sukhoi T-50.

The Russians acted too late though in respect to India.

One of the critical reasons for Hawk AJT deal being so protracted was Russian's insistence to wait for development of MIG AT. The then PM Narasimha Rao obliged and we waited further. Had it not been mounting crash rates, we could still be waiting. Thankfully common sense prevailed and we went for what argubly is the best trainer in the world in its category.
Don't know how true this report is, but with Russia loosing a lot of market in Military Aviation in India, YAK 130 proposal (if true) could be an attempt by Russia to generate some market. Remember T-50 derivatives are proposed to be sold to other countries as well, so if India agrees to YAK 130 (on hypothesis that this is a dedicated T-50 trainer), future customers may follow the suit.
