Russians pushing Yak-130 to India for training FGFA pilots

Too late man,yak was not ready when we needed trainer. Now we have hawk and can't create logistical nightmare.

1 billion dollars for 24 trainers and some associated weapons they may impart just so that the yaks can be used as last ditch fighters? Oh well..not very smart.

really? that is what you get ? 24 trainers are part of total 1 billion dollars deal, read it again... again and again... then again :disagree:

So you're buying some other stuff too. Thank goodness..I'd thought you folks had finally gone bonkers. :cheesy:

You know when we go to buy vegetables and if purchase is good enough (Rs. 100-150), vegetablewalla gives some Corriander, Ginger and Chilli for free. Now for (FGFA) deal this big value, don't you feel Russia should throw in some 10-12 YAK 130 and couple of Simulators as freebies.
:D Just saying!

Compairing vegetables amounts 100 bucks at max with $30bn FGFA :woot:

It was EPIC :D

Well one way of looking at it is if we can't leave the temptation of getting freebies in a Rs. 100 deal, why spare USD 30 billion purchase.:rolleyes1:

On a serious note, with something like Hawk in its inventory and well defined into its training program, will it be really wise to go for an additional trainer? IMHO an OCU coupled with more exhaustive simulator training can get desired results at a much lower cost.

Two important ponts .

1. Russia pushing the deal and not India .

2. News by IDRW .

So bottomline is not going to happen.

Defence experts say it is unlikely IAF will go for new trainers any time soon.

Article its self says the same whats your ponts ??

His point is that IDRW is absolutely the most jingoistic, hyperbole prone and inaccurate source wrt to such matters.

Oi! Bangla boy is a friend- don't poke him too much. He stops catching hilsa for me whenever he gets too perturbed. :astagh:
