There is not better than use China as threat to sell F-35 to India , the reason India keep buy Russian military equipment is because they're affraid of piss Russian off and make this latter sell better equipment to China and even Pakistan.

I wont Mind an F35 for say USD 150-200 Mn per plan in lifetime cost methodology ... offer that as a price to a "friend" whom you believe as strategic partner for this century and pivot of South Asia and other big Jingoistic words....

If the price is good, reasonable and if it meets our requirements, why not...


Not by the means of a few articles but rather by a proper evaluation.. if MMRCA is good, its only bcz of the evaluation that IAF did to get the most suitable bird..

May be do the same.. let Russian, USA and China show their best and then conclude whats the best for us..

At least that way the sales pitch or BS articles could either mellow down or stop completely.....


We may argue saying PAKFA is still not a mature platform and F35 is comparatively more tested etc etc.. thats fine.. an Evaluation exercise to select will consider all these aspects...

At least we're not so desperated to look for the 5th gen. fighter and begging other for TOT, Russians are not stupid to sell their high-tech accumilated from generation to generation to India for this tiny amount as 6 billions.

Eventhough i would like to assume the article is some propaganga or a pitch from western firms, we cannout ignore the following facts
1. Russia is not the Soviet union that we once had a strategic relationship. Its time India comes out of the thinking that russia is strong and we need them on our side.
2. Russians are more pro western than what we know. They are just like Turkey on weed trying to please both EU and Asia.
3. We cannot ignore the fact that PAKFA is not yet ready or India is not given enough developmental work to consider the deal worthful.
4. India should come out of the mindset that buying an Ameican plane would jeopardize our stand that we are neutral. These kind of decision which involve heavy investment should not be taken based on emotions.

BTW The chinese aircrafts looks very similar to F22 and F35 programs... the evaluation process is nt about just buying but also abt evaluating capabilities.. nothing is better than getting first hand info from the bird directly to understand the scope... Also, it may be next to impossible for China to field their birds in this competition as they would also be wary of IAF's true intention...


But i still say that evaluation exercise may take time, yet gives more clarity.. As of now if u look at MMRCA, u can easily understand why EF and Rafale were last 2 standing after numerous tests.. it was in a way certifying that the birds capability is in line with IAFs expectation.. We also could understand whats missing in US or Swedish or Russian birds what they offered.. the scope of any wrong mis information wont be there at all//
