Russia_ USA are doomed to remain potential enemies

.
obama being president is neither here nor there - pretty much.

the point was that "do white people control us foreign policy/make the important decisions?" - or words to that extent.

sure there are some figure heads and i openly admit this - but figureheads alone do not decide anything unilaterally - this includes obama, and powell who will have a whole body of advisors and "thinkers" behind them - my casual observation was that the people who seem to craft, design and plan american ambitions are not black, hispanic or any other race - they are largely white.

therefore i am interested to know about a grouping (or individuals) of black people (just for eg) who have significant input/influence/control into america's foreign ambitions - as far as i can see this is mainly controlled by white people (lets say a samuel huntington, zbignew brezezinski, snowcroft, kissinger et al)- again read the words carefully and understand the distinctions i am making

But every white person also had advisers and thinkers behind them. Just like A white guy was advised by a African American in the first gulf war. If your saying the majority of people in control a whites well that makes perfect sense since they are the majority. There is no racism being involved here though or unequal opportunity. (be it small groups here and there)

you insist on taking the narrowest and least useful definition of what i am saying.

"people of influence" tend to be think tanks, businessmen, ceo's of large corporations, prominent academics in the field of foreign affairs and international relations, advisers, speech writers, newspaper editors, tv boradcasters, media moghuls, law makers - you get the picture?

if you were to take some of aggregate of who holds positions in the types of positions i have just mentioned you will find its overwhelmingly white - not just now but over the past 20 years as well - this is the truth.

just as an interesting aside you can read buchanan's view on how obama has discriminated against black people

Maybe because the majority are whites in the U.S. ? It doesn't take much to comprehend that. For example why is it that there are not many Kurds in positions of power in Turkey ? Maybe because the Majority of people in Turkey are Turkish. Your really running on nothing here. The positions of power and influence in the U.S. are inline with the racial and ethnic demographics of the U.S.

African Americans make up a small percentage (Smaller then Hispanics) of the more then 300 million people that live here.

I highly doubt that you can find another nation that is more racially diverse and tolerant as the United States.

.
. . .
racial diversity does not imply racial harmony, nor does it imply proportional power/influence.

:hitwall: You just won't give up... did you have a bad racial experience once or something that colors your worldview?

I had black and asian officers superior to me that had me shaking in my boots. They obtained their superior rank by merit, not tokenism.

Tell me please, what Whitey cabal tells Obama, the man with a nuclear arsenal, what to do? His decision in executive matters is final. White guys don't drag him into a room and make him sign white legislation. He was elected President in a white-majority country by a wide margin.

This is getting ridiculous. Of course races don't join hands and sing happy songs all day. All countries with multiple races have issues. In general, though, things go very smoothly and people get along fine.

He is not doing anything out of the ordinary...

Confirmation bias - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Confirmation bias (also called confirmatory bias or myside bias) is a tendency for people to favor information that confirms their preconceptions or hypotheses regardless of whether the information is true.[Note 1][1] As a result, people gather evidence and recall information from memory selectively, and interpret it in a biased way. The biases appear in particular for emotionally significant issues and for established beliefs. For example, in reading about gun control, people usually prefer sources that affirm their existing attitudes. They also tend to interpret ambiguous evidence as supporting their existing position. Biased search, interpretation and/or recall have been invoked to explain attitude polarization (when a disagreement becomes more extreme even though the different parties are exposed to the same evidence), belief perseverance (when beliefs persist after the evidence for them is shown to be false), the irrational primacy effect (a stronger weighting for data encountered early in an arbitrary series) and illusory correlation (in which people falsely perceive an association between two events or situations).

Your point will gain more credibility if you do not quote Buchanan...a known anti semite.

your anecdotal claims over the net can hardly be taken seriously.

you consistently frame the argument around what way you think you can make your point - and even that is weak.

firstly what about the other aspects i mentioned

"people of influence" tend to be think tanks, businessmen, ceo's of large corporations, prominent academics in the field of foreign affairs and international relations, advisers, speech writers, newspaper editors, tv broadcasters, media moghuls, law makers - you get the picture?

as for obama - well firstly you insist on ignoring the apparatus of power and influence surrounding him - i have listed a brief list above.

secondly why dont you look at his close advisors and senior staff?

thirdly - after the severe bashing the american image took with bush i can see why a lot of white americans voted for him, plus he had loads of WEALTHY INFLUENTIAL WHITE SUPPORTERS - just look at the people who donated to his campaign

in the US the issue of race becomes prominent when there is not enough bread to go around, people there have got used to excess for far too long.

your point would have more creditability if you could tell me he was factually incorrect.

There are a mix of races in the Executive office.

Your fatal logic is that anything "white"-originated on the international, socio-political scene, is defacto bad. Anything non-white, by extension, is peaceful, good, or would be, if only The White Man didn't exist.

Ever think that the white guys surrounding Obama might be giving their absolute best advice for the good of all? Is this such a difficult (or impossible) concept?

Please remove the race-blinders. The opportunity absolutely exists here for anyone, with hard work and talent, to rise to statospheric levels of power, fame, money.

I agree with this at this point in time. However, this trend is unpredictable as ethnic/race nationalism is on the rise across the globe (US included).

Don't slime the Jews, among the "minorities", Chinese included, they are at the top (WASPs considered). And they are smart enough not to be in the US military but to use it well.
