Featured Russia want to sell SU-35 to Pakistan: BBC Urdu

One needs to read the Imperialist mindset to understand their motives, calculations, actions, words etc.....

As for Pak acquiring Su-35, Delhi is far away...

As for India’s relationship with Russia, it’s all happening inside Delhi....

Imperialists don’t want to run out of options! It’s all business for them, nothing personal! And, that too based on strict calculations....

India is way deep in Uncle Sam’s camp, it’s almost point of no return.
We need to capitalize on this opportunity to get small ticket items, including engine overhaul facilities, joint exercises and training for our Jawans in Russia, etc but the focus should be on economy.

Russia was once a predominantly agrarian society, and under the organization of the Soviet government they carried out reforms to education and literacy that allowed them to leap frog into the modern world. Their economic system and overspending on the military bogged them down. The Chinese learned from this and applied it to their society with “Chinese characteristics”. Neither way will work for Pakistan for a number of reasons, But if they are ASPECTS we can learn from the Russians and the Chinese it’s not only in physical ToT, but social ToT.

Also, the Russians have a great math program and know how to find and mold their geniuses. Finding and molding our intellectual and athletic stars should be a national priority.

the other area we should work with the Russians is mineral exploration; oil/gas as well as precious metals. If their map of minerals of Afghanistan can generate such interest, there is no reason a similar map of what may be in Pakistan can help fuel interest in domestic and foreign investment into our mining sector. Once Pakistan is a regional leader in mining and inshallah some stability comes to Afghanistan, Pakistan will be well positioned to help bid for mining contracts there.

As far as acquiring weapons from Russia, subsystems and training and not whole systems are probably the best things to acquire, especially as not to get CAATSA’d.

Russians must know Pakistan's fiscal situation when it made such an offer. I'm sure it pleased folks over at Pakistan's FO as a sign of deepening relations, but is it? Russians are using the Pakistanis to make sure India stays in their camp. Expect India to announce its commitment to the S-400 in the coming weeks.

All I can say here is that if people understand what was in the OP, properly translated, there would have been no need for this thread. Honestly.

Russia is a more like a small time grocery shop, cash payment only, no credit no aid not concession .. as long as Pakistan can afford to to buy close to 60% of Russian weapons export annually in cash, Russia will be your BFF.

India is the largest market for Russian weapons accounting for 60% of of annual revenue. As soon as Russia sells combat weapons to Pakistan to be used against India, they would also need to find a replacement of Indian market. If Pakistan can be that replacement, well it good. otherwise these are all fantasy speculations.

One big problem with it though: US won't permit it.

If that is the case then that's where the problem lies. You should just shoot down anything going deep in your airspace, ask questions later.

Real life very different from movies.

Its a two way dependency. India cannot just walk away from Russia and jeopardise the logistical support and ammunition supply for the large number of Russian origin weapons platforms in its arsenal.

The same jets have been offered to Turkey also. As is known, the last customer of this system was Egypt. From a broader perspective, it can be seen how smart the Russian military bureaucracy. And can be seen that which countries they are trying to balanced.

CAATSA................
Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act
If these jetts built in Pakistan at Mirage rebuild factory then No CAASTA these are not very expensive and V good replacement for our aging mirage jetts

What makes you say that? It would mean paying Russians even more money then just buying them directly.

I think any major system like the SUs are extremely unlikely from the Russian sources. What is a realistic possibility is utilization of Russian finances and expertise in key note developments/such as the Gas pipeline from Iran, revival of the steel mills, setting up smaller specialized steel mills, hydroelectric projects and metallurgical training. Subassembly of RD series engines might also be a worth while project. Beyond that mediums range missiles for trials and evaluation might be another possibility. Anything more is going to be complex and asking for trouble.
