is this a Mikoyan or Sukhoi project ?

Single engine Russian fighter (in a long time) , wonder what the NATO reporting name will be. This could have the same export potential of the MiG-21 when it was first introduced.

It could be Sukhoi, the air intake being put at front like that could suggest the engine is quite long, tipical Su 30 engine, but this time it will be single engine

Sukhoi develops single-engine stealth fighter

The Sukhoi company, part of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) of the Rostec State Corporation, is developing the first Russian single-engine light tactical fighter with supersonic speed and low radar signature. This was reported by TASS news agency on 26 May 2021 citing unnamed sources in the aircraft industry.

According to the sketchy information provided so far, the new aircraft shall reach speeds exceeding Mach 2 at high altitudes and, typically for a Sukhoi, shall feature super-maneuverable characteristics by using a 3D TVC equipped power plant enabling to achieve the thrust-to-weight ratio exceeding 1.0.

The take-off weight of the new aircraft should not exceed 18 tons and the design shall form an universal platform for both manned and unmanned versions.

This info is reflected back to December 2020 when Sergei Chemezov, head of the Rostec State Corporation, mentioned that Rostec was proactively working on the concept of a future single-engine aircraft to fill in the blanks of the Russian defence industry for the light and medium class fighters, with strong emphasis on the future export market. The development is currently being executed proactively without funds linked to Russian defence budget.

Just recently, a photo from the office of Yuri Borisov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, shows a model of an unknown fighter, remotely resembling a product of mating the Su-57 with Boeing’s JSF concept, the X-32, featuring a large air intake under the nose of the aircraft. Whether this model has any connection to the future Sukhoi’s fighter, remains to be seen.

Is this a teaser for the new Russian single engined fighter project? :what:

Is this really "Rostec"/ UAC' official teaser for the LFI/LMFS?

Here's the video teaser

There has been an uptick in chatter on the Russian Defense Websites regarding a new Single-Engine, Stealth Combat Fighter in the offing. I believe that Sukhoi Aircraft Corporation is pursuing this class of light/medium weight fighter, whereas MiG is pursuing the successor for the Foxhound, which is a super heavy class of interceptor fighter. I believe that both Sukhoi and Mikoyan are bringing to bare design for both fighters, within the realm of some sort of stealth abilities.

It seems to be a show confidence by the Russian military aircraft design sphere, in projecting their new aircraft prior to their revelation to the world.

The future business of the aircraft depends on CATSAA. Traditional Russia partners like India, Egypt, Vietnam, Myanmar, Iran, Serbia, Central Asian countries, and Algeria will not have problem to buy this ones, but I doubt UAE, Qatar, and countries like Malaysia will buy the planes if CATSAA is still imposed.

The Russian built a new Stealth Jet & were planning on unveiling it at MAKs '21.

The nature of the Teaser was that they were teasing the World - 'bout what they were gonna show.

Well, that's been put to rest with all the [HD] images coming through of it being moved. Not much of a secret there.

What, they couldn't make a wooden box with wheels to cover it?

I hope that it will be one of the best fighter (5 Gen) and will come at a reasonable cost.

India might be the first customer if it is good, even shown in the video.

Just a thought.

Okay, how about a tent with wheels.

I've seen Cars, Bikes and even Formula 1 cars being unveiled after strict secrecy. Its true what everyone says about the Ruskis. They'll never get out of that Soviet mentality...

Just give 'em their vodka & they're #Happy😃

I'm guessing a lot of people, media included have been given a bit of a sneak peek but they're under a disclosure embargo.

Anyway, couple days to go, this will be fun.
