Russia spat delays BrahMos air version

slightly off topic about that Carrier deal.

Russian carriers are really a mix of half-heavy missile cruiser and half aircraft carrier. In the India carrier deal, is India going to receive missile compliment along with the carrier?
The "missile" section of the carrier was redesign to be a flattop. The redesign cost how Russia screw India. I remember it include a hooker finding out the cost that India is willing to pay and Russia just name the price.

can u explain that...?????
Sorry, the first one was wrong and I was suppose to inser the world, "not" between "am" and "claiming"

First of all, I am not claiming that India can not build anything. Even with its minimal manufacturing capability, it can build a few things here and there. But the topic of this thread is about Brahmos so this is what I will address here.

I don't why you keep calling him a false flag but sure. Let's just keep the accusations to ourselves if we are uncertain.

The reason why I find it funny is you've not said anything explicitly pro-mainland.

thanks....

Yeah that makes sense because Russia is not willing to export the P-500 Basalt missiles which provides the main punching power of ships like these.

I'm certainly trying to talk common sense into Indians, which your previous post was doing. If I want to bash India, I would talk like Hongwu. And I certainly do not talk like him. I actually talk more like Joe Shear(SIC). He is one Indian guy that I admire the most as he has common sense. I thought you are like him but I think I'm wrong.

I try to work purely on logic and try to rule out emotions as much as possible but as we know, logic can get overwhelmed at times. As long as you stick to logic, I am with you. It is when you venture into the realm of conjecture and insinuations, that I will oppose you vehemently. Especially if it happens to be my nation at the receiving end. Your post No # 27 was totally irrational.
Russia has given us the the best fighters we had till date, for this we thank them. Russia tries to arm twist us into paying more than we should, for this they need to be condemned. India needs to build up its indigenous capabilities so that we can't be arm twisted by anyone, this is a fact of life. Does any more need to be said?

I think his point was that if India doesn't want to get screwed in arms deals, it needs to pick a camp and stick to it. While this non-aligned thing may work out politically (maybe), it definitely will mean that you won't be getting the friend's rate (ie Pakistan with China) and that you'll be seen as more an opportunity rather than a strategic friend or asset that should be supported and made strong.

Also not @ you but at other Indian posters. Banish from your mind that possibility the Russians would want to make nice with the USA.

Why dont the indian do themself since this project was a colaborate .Russian can decide all and india cannot goes on?

Yes, maybe. But he should also know that India will not pick a camp. Even during the Cold War, when India was threatened by the US and was very close to USSR, there were no Soviet bases in India, Soviet aircraft did not refuel here. There were no naval bases in India. USSR was a genuine friend. They did not ask us for any warm water port on the Arabian Sea or elsewhere, knowing that India's internal democracy would not permit it and the government giving such concessions will lose the next elections. Nothing really has changed. We have not picked on the US camp. Yes, Russia is not the USSR, so we have to look elsewhere to bridge the gap. Our manufacturing sector has many miles to go. So is our R & D. We buy much of what we need now. We know all this. In the meanwhile, it is just like a high class brothel where we are paying.

Hey buddy, I know a thing or two about Russian history. Russia, for the last 1000 years or so, has had just the interests of only one nation in mind, Russia. That is something we understand very well. But, tell me, aren't all nations the same? When I hear that a certain action by your country is anti Indian, I understand that it is merely pro-Chinese and not necessarily anti Indian. So basically we are all the same. Russia will support The US and the NATO when it suits them and will oppose them when it suits them.

During the Cold War the USSR had docking rights at Vishakhapatnam.

Not the same as a permanent naval base, I agree, but India was vital to the overall geopolitical strategy of the USSR, and to the Soviet Pacific Fleet in particular.

Correct but at this point Russia has little to gain from joining NATO besides more obligations an restrictions.

Ahh, but you forget that Russia has had a desire to be a part of white Europe for a very long time. Russia's Eurasian ambitions, are dormant. Integration with Europe is an everlasting ambition. Negotiations with Germany and others are a pointer. The US is not very happy but there is not much it can do. After all it is Europe and not America that has to live with Russia.
