He used "even" because Russia used to have a military technological advantage over China (and exported weapons to China) during the Cold War.

Now, it has pretty much been reversed.

He didn't use India in the comparison because India has not reached that level yet.

As for egos with junk you only have to look to Arjun and LCA. You have them yet you keep importing.
