1) Israel could destroy S-200 in any given moment (and we proved it destroying it in few hours after the attack). We did not destroy it as act of good will, which payed bad.
2) This S-200 was not alone. It was protected by most modern Buk M2 and Pantsyr systems. Yet they failed to protect it.
That was just a fluke , it happens when troops are tired overwhelmed and forget to reload or keep the system alive..

During the the first gulf war ancient systems destroyed over 50 modern jets. I'll tell you a secret: there is no much difference in terms of capabilities between the S-200 and S-300.
During the Gulf war, the coalition aviation was helped by Jordanians military who put bugs in Iraqi computer that happen to transit thru Jordan...It more than an Arab thing than a coalition force on steroid..And Israel too, has survived all these years , because she surrounded by Arabs..I would have been surprised if you were relocated in South America, as it was in the first choice of local for you, before Arabs invited you in..
Well, depending on the Russian seriousness , in letting the Syrian the free use of the S300 capabilities, the future will tell us certainly if the S200 and the S300 are the same...
