The submarine, designed by the Malakhit Marine Engineering Bureau and built in the northern port city of Severodvinsk, will enter service in the Russian Navy in 2020.

The Russian military has floated out the nuclear submarine "Novosibirsk" – the first Yasen-M-class vessel launched by the country. According to Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, the crew has completed its training and is ready to start serving on board the new submarine.

Another submarine of the Yasen class, named Kazan, is undergoing sea trials and is expected to be commissioned next year.

The Yasen-M-class (also known as Project 885M) has a submerged displacement of 3,800 tonnes and can operate autonomously for up to 100 days. It can reach a maximum speed of 35 knots (65 kilometres per hour or 40 mph) and is armed with Oniks and Kalibr cruise missiles.

. . . .
Yasen replaces Oscar. Oscar commissioned in 1980. Yasen commissioned in 2013.
Bro i am talking about specification and Oscar class is still in Russian naval service, Yasen gradually replaces Oscar, you claim Yasen is biggest SSGN in the world i prove you wrong

. . . . . .
Biggest baddest takes into account average of biggest and baddest. Both factors count.
Dont twist your words, you claims Yasen is biggest and badass SSGN in the world but Russian has bigger then Yasen class but badass yes for Russian it a badest sub in the world, so every country should claims that its SSGN is badest in the world like Americans called their Virginia class badest in the world same goes to UK/France/China that they claim their SSGN is badest in the world

With a crew of 64 compared to 135 in Virginia. It's highly automated.
there is different concept/philosophic considerations behind the designs of Yasen class/Virginia class, Virginia class have design in mind of reliability/backup and Yasen class highly automated/ more weapon system/speed/stealth, in fact Yasen class inspired by old 70 era Alpha calss, but if Yasen automation system is collapsed it would be disaster because in Yasen class there not many men to control a disaster

Virginia is much smaller than Yasen. Virginia compared to Yasen is like F-35 compared to Su-57 or F-16 compared to Su-35.

don't bring this type of stupid comparison again and Virginia class sub is scale down version of US Seawolf class sub of cold war era, If yasen is bigger than Virginia that ain't good thing for Yasen it a 2 way road bigger means your sub able to carry more weapons but down side of being big that you have more chance of being detected by enemy SONARs

"Biggest & Baddest" in submarine terms leads you to a faster death....mission accomplishment depends on stealth.
