Not another source for the news. It's the same source. The first source you posted (Daily Bhaskar) is some kind of a blog-like website which was quoting sunday guardian which is actually the original source. So it was Sunday Guardian which is responsible for this article.

See the Author of that report. That Suman Sharma woman is a dork when it comes to defence matters, and yet she calls herself a Defence Journalist. She runs the chindits blog.

If anyone beleives that the price of equipment is to rise ten fold i can only say you are an idiot, as is the reporter that made this story. The rise of prices is normal due to inflation, but ten fold is pretty silly.


Exactly correct, prices will go up over time. Even if the SU-30 is 100 mill, you get alot of aircraft for the money, not to mention it is costlier to produce large heavy fighters such as sukhois.

in case of INS Vikramaditya, I remember sometimes in 2010, Russia offered to even return the deposite money and ready to induct it in its own Navy also but its India who wanted to buy it for any cost........ if someone can't make something for you within the price then he can hardly offer to return the money???? the same in case of Six French Scorpean Submarines for the 'Project 75', it was initially signed for $1.9bil and to be delivered from 2010 onward but now its price is well over $5bil with expected to be delivered from 2015, if India is lucky............

techs keep changing and there are many factors which are behind varying costs of defense arm while it is a business that even if you may keep a customer, you won. as first you sell your products and then there will be upgrades of it in future also. and with full training on your aircraft/naval arm etc, the customer is more likely to buy the same products as he has developed an infrastructure of it also......... no one would lose its defence arm customer but its also true that no one will make any arm from his own pocket for you.........
