Tides are turning for Pakistan. Yesterday Russians made a very interesting move.
One of their diplomat in India spoke to inform India that Russia is strengthening its ties with Pakistan.
There should be no cause for India to worry or in other word to agitate on growing relationship with Pakistan.

This came after Russian Foreign Ministers announcement a week earlier.

In other words Russians are determined that their relationship with Pakistan should be separated from the whims and hue and cries from the Indians. Russians realise that India is used as a pawn by the USA , now it is showing to the Indians that Russia is free to form their own ties with Pakistan without interference from India.
They are still free to buy arms from Russians, but should not put pressure on them regarding their policies with Pakistan.

Moscow’s efforts to develop relations with Islamabad fit in with the basic values of the strategic partnership between India and Russia, Russian ambassador Nikolay Kudashev said

. .
Russia will always be an ally , Russia building ties with Pakistan is an angling towards the SCO block.
Which is only natural, given the perpetual sanctions NATO and america unilaterally enforces on Russia.

Russia has in the past, due to ingrained corruption escalated costs and ruined joint ventures where as America has seized this opportunity by giving good service and deliveries with there defense products.

The Balance will be maintained , that is the nature of geopolitics these days,
And if nothing lessons will be learned.

It is interesting Putin has visited numerous countries. He has never been to Pakistan

That is a very valid point & one that should be taken a note of.

However, lets see how much of His patience is actually tested in regard to both India & Pakistan.

Earlier, India was USSR/Rusia's biggest Arms customer. How times have changed or atleast the tides have shifted. India has gone ahead & bought a number of Boeing Defence equipment (C-130, C-117, CH-47, Cobras and P-8's). And now for the first time the F/A-18 Super Hornet has become the front-runner for their Navy over the Russians & French Rafale (Navy variant).

Russia is losing its grip over India as they've already bought the Rafles.

So, where does Russia and Putin stand as of now? Selling old/stored MiG-29's from the Cold War at throwaway prices?!! Russia could've sold those to a number of Nations strapped on cash, but they still dealt 'em to India at the price of a used-Volvo.

Now, this by no means is an indication that he or his Country are planning on ditching India, but it appears that he is in exactly the same situation Pakistan is in with the United States.

The US slogan of 'Do More' from the Obama-era is a thing of the past and the way I see it there is no turning back. In my honest opinion, that ship has sailed & seems to be heading in the direction of China. Now you may argue that THAT may be a mistake, but if you were standing in our shoes and had witnessed how the US has treated us in past many decades, you'd be inclined to have a better understanding of the situation.

Only thing is, though Pakistan may have very well distanced itself from the US, Putin may be now trying to swing Pakistan on its side and a much awaited trip could be on the cards.

Frankly speaking, these Presidential trips have no value because if a deal is to be done it can easily be done behind closed doors between people that have a better understanding of what is required.

Lets see how it plays out.

This is a move in the correct direction, if it is authentic news. Pakistan ought to establish a full spectrum relationship with the Russian Federation. Particularly in the economic sphere, where Pakistan and the Russian Federation should explore the potential of expanding CPEC toward trade between the two countries. In the diplomatic sphere, Pakistan ought consolidate it's relations with the Russian Federation via the SCO. Both Russia and Pakistan are commonly aligned on work in a multipolar world, exploring mutually beneficial avenues in trade deals, technological, environmental, medical research as well as cultural exchanges.

A stronger relationship with Russia, makes the Continental S.C.O more balanced and allows for other members states to further consolidate on all multi-lateral fronts.

For Pakistan there is a particularly great potential in working with Russia to expand it's Space Program. Specifically, to establish agreements, whereby Pakistani students are permitted to study in Russia in the fields related Space Exploration. There should be a concerted effort made by Pakistan in a proposition of joint China, Russia and Pakistan space program. A partnership including these countries, could bare fruit for all participants, on positive and progressive terms.

The world has changed on all fronts, where it is Russia and China the countries whom developing states ought collaborate with. The West, has proven with its actions and intent, that it is still an imperialist. and there intent being hegemonic in nature. One only has to look at the track record of three countries in the West, to know that they are devoid of any progressive and humane relations. Be it france the imperialist dog, britain the imperialist liar or america the imperialist brute, all have proven how they lie, kill and deceive to maintain their dominance over the world.

The countries still developing, ought say "never again, are we to ever trust the Western Bloc of nations."

It was enevitable. USA is building ties with India and Israel along with Arab states, Russia had to do that. Besides, it is in their favor they will benefit from an improved relationship.

That Russia decided to do joint military drills with Pakistan in Gilgit-Baltistan a few years ago alone was a significant move because India regards that region as Indian territory occupied by Pakistan. So there is unmistakable distance between India and Russia.

And no surprise. To begin with, India-Russia relations were always transactional: What was common between them? Religion, language, culture, geographical proximity, strategic alignment? None to the point of being called real friends or partners and so India is rightly distancing itself from Russia. Indian cash enriched Russian defense industry for decades. The Russian hardware was, as pointed out above by an Indian himself, often delayed and price bloated. Russia had the UNSC support for India but The UNSC Veto can be acquired through USA/UK/France if/when needed.

But as long as India is willing to buy significant $$ amount of Russian hardware the Russians would downplay the distancing from India. Otherwise, if you follow on You Tube the RT channel--at least partly funded by the Russian govt--you will see that anti-India videos are not uncommon.

And with all due respects, I think Russia is a 'has been' global player. The ability to nuke the world to extinction in a M.A.D only goes so far. India is making the right move.

Tell us how much $$$ Pakistan has spent on weapons with countries not named China and USA in the past 20 years. Most of Chinese weapon purchases are on credit. Most of American sales are funded by CSF payments. That sums up Russia and Pakistan relationship.

These are the list of MiG-29 operators. India is pretty much the only one who can even afford to purchase them

As far as Putin visits goes the map explains it well. The grey colored states are generally American occupied states or geopolitical wastelands. Pakistan does not fit neatly into either category

Don't forget the upcoming Aman 2021 naval exercises being held off the coast of Pakistan that neither Russia nor the US invited India to.

And with all due respects, I think Russia is a 'has been' global player. The ability to nuke the world to extinction in a M.A.D only goes so far. India is making the right move.

Russia itself ditched its own goal of becoming a Top 5 economy in the world:
https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2020/07/21/russia-ditches-goal-of-becoming-top-5-economy-a70946

They're under no delusions but the myriad of scientific resources and technologies they have and if we can get a hold of it to advance our own military and industries considering our young, large and growing population and abundance of resources will be invaluable for Pakistan.

This is what India hates and is anxious about.

Russia building ties with Pakistan is an angling towards the SCO block.

So why is India, a member of the SCO, aligning itself with the US and those states that are both outside of the SCO and hostile to 2 of the biggest members within it (i.e. Russia and China)?

It is interesting Putin has visited numerous countries. He has never been to Pakistan

Is Khan starting to win Putin over?

Besides, it is in their favor they will benefit from an improved relationship.

With the Indians cosying up with the Americans it is only natural for Russia and Pak
to get closer. Russia will come part of CPEC and get access to Gwadar port.

Wrote this on another post but an alliance with Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and China virtually guarantees them a wall of protection against NATO expansionism on the South and Eastern borders along with a myriad of other benefits.

Pakistan offers Russia a large growing economy with warm water access to growing African economies while assisting them with their security concerns in Central Asia whose states will be increasingly tied into the Pakistani economy as the years progress.

China offers Russia access to the largest economy on the planet that's still growing with burgeoning oil and gas needs providing a one stop shop for their wares.

India offers them worry and concerns partnering with Western nations that seek curtail Russian influence and mitigate the threat their nuclear arsenal poses.

It just makes sense.

We will have to see what the future holds.
