Customs authorities in Russia's Far East have launched a criminal case against a Chinese citizen who attempted to smuggle spare parts for Russian MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters last year, a customs' spokesperson said on Friday.

The man, whose identity has not been revealed, was caught at one of the border checkpoints in Transbaikal region in July last year. Customs officials found six stepping motors, two piston pumps, 54 connectors, an elapsed-time meter and other parts in the trunk of his car.

"It took experts from the Defense Ministry almost a year to prove that the confiscated equipment is part of assembly kits for MiG-29 and Su-27 fighter jets," Yulia Philipova said.

"A criminal case has been opened," she said.

It is the second attempt by Chinese nationals to smuggle spare parts for fighter jets from Russia in the past three years.

A Chinese man was detained at the same border checkpoint in 2009 while trying to smuggle power supply circuits for Su-27s.

China is notorious for producing copycat versions of military equipment from all over the world.

Russia has accused China of producing its own clones of some Russian-made weaponry, including the Su-27SK fighter jet, in violation of intellectual property agreements.:police::police:

The Russians will never give access to Chinese to their Most important tech, but as you can see FSB is doing its job very well.

Dont understand how Russia has friendly relationship with China, after they lost billions of dollars in revenue, and got they plane copied and then China will go and sell these planes to other nations now.

Exactly how strong is Russia-China relationship? Is it bonded by the hate of USA only?

sac j11b are completely domestic( even includes engine)

we actually needn't any su27's fittings and just need to buy al31fn for j10a now.

Good answer. Congratulations.
I'm paraphrasing it a bit.
We have completely stolen the technology for production of Su-27 (work at least, a copy of it even to be able to fly). However, to reproduce on their own engine in our mind is not enough.
I wrote this not to argue with you.
That is how we perceive your technical "breakthrough."
Do not be surprised why some Russian looks at you with a "high". Perhaps the difference of mentality or culture. In Russia, the theft is considered a bad exercise.
If you, in silence, stole. You could justify it. Trying to make up for the technological gap (many engaged in this, it's almost normal.) Save money (to spend on social services). However, some Chinese comrades lost touch with reality. Loudly ranting about the stolen technology (for them it is quite normal.) Thus, they only damage the image of the Chinese nation. I highly respect and treat her very positive). Do not think I wrote the text of rudeness. Just think how can respond to your words in other countries.
The effect of the same words in the nutria, the country and abroad may differ diametrically. Very good position for you would be.
Recognition of borrowing technology. Yes, we borrowed. However, we borrow the most advanced technology in the future and it will allow us to develop the new Chinese technology.
For example. Su -27 is the best aircraft in its class. Therefore we have chosen this model for the design of its aircraft. To the best of their technical strength, we try to make the Chinese analog of the same level.
At least it will sound - an adult.
Now I mostly listen to baby talk. Su-27 crap. Our analogue of this is pure gold. Only for some reason, our industry can not create some of the basic components to this plane.
The dissonance of thinking.

What makes them automatically assume that these kits will be used by the Chinese military industry? China has much more advanced aircraft than the MiG-29 and the Su-27.

The "copycat" claim is also very much outdated and nowadays purely based on stereotype. This isn't the 1970s anymore. Virtually all of China's modern equipment are of indigenous design and indigenous development.

The original J-11 were produced UNDER LICENSE, so why are they complaining about "violations"? The J-11B is an indigenous development that simply uses an empty original J-11A airframe with everything else completely indigenous. They have no right to complain about the J-11B either.
