Russia charges Chinese man with smuggling military equipment

Dont understand how Russia has friendly relationship with China, after they lost billions of dollars in revenue, and got they plane copied and then China will go and sell these planes to other nations now.

Exactly how strong is Russia-China relationship? Is it bonded by the hate of USA only?

And which planes did China exactly "illegally copy"?

The basic J-11 was licensed. The J-11B is an indigenous development (that simply uses a Russian airframe). So is the J-15.

So, care to give me any examples?

china have't any mig29

why were we going to steal mig29's fittings

are u sure about that

PLAAF doesn't operate any MIG-29s, but that one in the pic was brought for research purposes. It was sometime during the 80s. A long time ago.

The J-11 is a LICENSED production of the SU-27 design.
In February 1996 Moscow and Beijing reached a $2.2 billion agreement for Chinese co-production of the Sukhoi Su-27. Under the initial agreement China would produce up to 200 aircraft [without the right to reexport the jets to third countries] from Russian-made components over three to five years. The total cost of the contract is $1.5 billion, including $650 million for technical documents and $850 million for parts, instruments and equipment provided by Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Enterprise imeni Yuriy Gagarin [KnAAPO], which is to deliver around 30 percent of all completing parts for 200 Chinese SU-27SK jets. Russia has licensed coproduction of Su-27s to the Shenyang Aircraft Company, which can produce fifteen to twenty per year. In the period 1998-2000 Shenyang planned to assemble only 15 Su- 27SK fighters of the 200 permitted under the terms of the contract. The first two aircraft built at Shenyang flew at the end of 1998. By 2004, China had only received components kits for 95 aircraft, as a contract covering the additional 105 kits was still pending.

I still couldn't believe that even after 16 years since the Russians agreed to let the Chinese to locally manufacture the SU-27, some people still believe that the Chinese "stole" the design.

Would you say that the Indians "stole" the SU-30 design just because they locally manufacture them since the year 2000? No, because it is a LICENSED manufacture.

Both India and China are developing countries. They are not as industrialized as Russia, let alone the Western powers. It is the nature of all countries to try to become self-sufficient at some point in the future, such that they don't have to rely on other countries for advanced weapons such as aircraft.

Correct.

The J-11B and J-15 are all domestic and indigenous projects (they simply use an empty Russian airframe), so they are technically not under the license agreement. Both use completely domestic technologies and development and internal design.

As far as the news go, the parts could have been intended to be smuggled anywhere. Especially to a country under certain sanctions such as Myanmar or Iran...or something.

Russia sukhois are smoke screen. US, Russia real toy is this

These were Germans gifts to US and Russia BTW.

Worldwide, this is called theft of intellectual property. In China it is called (using the empty airframe). You have a very "advanced views".
This "backward and underdeveloped" countries by air as the U.S., Russia, France and England is not given to understand that. This is purely a Chinese invention. You can not copy someone else's aircraft design and make your flight. The aircraft design is developed each time individually. Not persist. I understand you are trying to support China's image. This is commendable. However, it is quite pointless (to try to achieve it in this way). Your theory for domestic Chinese use. All other participants may only cause a smile.

China Russia military relationship from wiki

After the EU arms embargo on China imposed after the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, China became a reliable client for Russian military exports, making up 25-50% of all foreign military sales.[2] More recently there has been a pro-China shift in the trade balance as there has been a dramatic fall in the Chinese purchase of Russian weapons and military technology. This can be linked to the fact that Russia is only willing to send Soviet-era technology that China is beginning to be able to match independently, and refuses to sell its advanced technology due to fears that China would reverse engineer Russian imports to improve its own military exports that would then be able to undercut Russia in other foreign markets

China certainly doing no favours here to Russia at all.

Good answer. Congratulations.
I'm paraphrasing it a bit.
We have completely stolen the technology for production of Su-27 (work at least, a copy of it even to be able to fly). However, to reproduce on their own engine in our mind is not enough.
I wrote this not to argue with you.
That is how we perceive your technical "breakthrough."
Do not be surprised why some Russian looks at you with a "high". Perhaps the difference of mentality or culture. In Russia, the theft is considered a bad exercise.
If you, in silence, stole. You could justify it. Trying to make up for the technological gap (many engaged in this, it's almost normal.) Save money (to spend on social services). However, some Chinese comrades lost touch with reality. Loudly ranting about the stolen technology (for them it is quite normal.) Thus, they only damage the image of the Chinese nation. I highly respect and treat her very positive). Do not think I wrote the text of rudeness. Just think how can respond to your words in other countries.
The effect of the same words in the nutria, the country and abroad may differ diametrically. Very good position for you would be.
Recognition of borrowing technology. Yes, we borrowed. However, we borrow the most advanced technology in the future and it will allow us to develop the new Chinese technology.
For example. Su -27 is the best aircraft in its class. Therefore we have chosen this model for the design of its aircraft. To the best of their technical strength, we try to make the Chinese analog of the same level.
At least it will sound - an adult.
Now I mostly listen to baby talk. Su-27 crap. Our analogue of this is pure gold. Only for some reason, our industry can not create some of the basic components to this plane.
The dissonance of thinking.

russian ≠ Soviet Union
all these things were come from Soviet Union's creation and not russian's
russian only inherited the major part of Soviet Union's legacy .
we gain all these Soviet Union's technique from your russian or CIS country(ex;Ukrainian,Kazakhstan,Belorussia)through normal channels using money,

Russians where the Majority of the population of the USSR, and made up most of the scientist as well. So that means that almost every tech that was made in the USSR was made by the Russians. Just like any tech made in Taiwan, is still made by Han Chinese.

if china violated russian intellectual property why isnt russia fieling a complain or sueing China for doing so? besides, we are saying byby to your Soviet left over Migs and Sus`so there is no harm to do so`

your definition of intellectual property is very naive and ameture``there are other countries 'copy' others aircraft design to develop their own fighter``on top of my mind there is japanese Mitsubishi F-2 (way before J-11B)`so accroding to your funny theory Japan should be the country invented it.

no one is trying to support anyone's image, just you are stereotyped so as your media, cant face the reality of losing high tech ground to the past 'student'``so have to make something out of anything to console yourelves`

besides all your so-called chinese infringements have no solid proves.

but when you short of fund, even you have brilliant ideas which can hardly be materialised,

best example, chinese started investing heavily on R&D 10 years ago, today it has the 2nd largest fund for R&D and basic science research, and now our quality scientific researches and patents have surpassed U.K, France and South Korea and germany as 3rd after U.S and Japan`

Their I fixed it for you, no need to Thank me.
