What's new

Russia at International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2014 in Karachi.

I'm surprised, went through all the pages of this thread , no one even noticed that Russians are displaying Mi28NE, at IDEAS 2014, it's different from Mi35 for which deal is being done with Pakistan, it is a dedicated attack helecopter, if Pakistan opts for it, it would add a considerable offensive punch to Pak Amry Aviation.

"Both targets were destroyed, in one case by a direct hit and in the other by a close-range explosion. Intercept took place at a range of around 6 km and at an altitude of around 1,500 metres"

Kuwait Air Defense Brigade Successfully Tests Skyguard and ASPIDE 2000 Missile System
Earlier tests done as well.

The Aspide 2000 missile has set yet another exceptional record in its long career. During an air defence exercise that took place at the end of January 2009, the Amoun battery of Kuwait's Air Defence Brigade carried out five Aspide 2000 missile launches against a series of air targets simulating different types of attack scenarios.

No proof whatsoever that the 1500m limit or conditions were set. Again, nothing proven or disproved.

From the source on PLA systems, with the Aspide Mk.1(inferior to Aspide 2000 with increased range)
PLA Mechanised Infantry Division Air Defence Systems / PLAPoint Defence Systems
LY-60/HQ-64 Specifications [Aspide Mk.1 Specification Assumed]

Maximum Altitude 5,000 m 16,400 ft

But mbda quotes that aspide 2000 has 40% improvement in range vs baseline aspide missile while both LY-60 based on aspide mk1 and aspide 2000 have a difference of just 5 km,,ie 20 and 25 km with length of missile and weight notoriously closer to one another.

Is aspide mk1 same as baseline aspide??

It is very doubtful that Spada 2000 have this short range altitude .. even Manpads have now 3km of altitude
RBS 70 have 5 km of Altitude

SAM of this caliber must have altitude of 13-17 km

I have posted official link to MBDA (SPADA-2000) website in this thread check it out, it may help answering your question.

Nope, please read the OEM reference. It says in excess of 25km. You will never see the manufacturer give out the exact details of the system. There is something called a
Irrevocable Non Circumvention and Non-Disclosure Agreement that is signed between parties in Defence deals.

If you read about SPADA-2000 system on official website of MBDA, you will find that it says "Well Over 25 km" and it more weapons can be integrated for layered Air Defense. It seems @Penguin may be right that SPADA-2000 has 40 km range, I think it can hit upto 25000 feet high flying targets.

Sadly there is no confirmation.
