The European melting pot was a consequence of WW1 and 2 and the immigrants it needed for its reconstruction, they were not well treated and their offspring won't be very loyal to Europe in case of war .
Russia is a rich country, it has too much Oil and Gas reserves to be considered a poor country, and has the 2nd or 3rd powerfull military in the world (by world standards, we can find rust on some American and European gear too), not including its 10 000 nuclear warheads and hydrogen bombs. This is not to be underestimated by any sane person or nation., Russia also has strategic dept that eastern Europe lacks, so in case of war Russia can at least get back to the Warsaw pact frontiers, while NATO will loose in any adventure inside Russia, remember that the Germans lost more than two million soldiers due to weather alone, than came the offensive till Berlin, but this time it might stop in Paris or on the Atlantic coast., So, in brief, Europe has much more to lose than Russia in case of a WW3. The US never confronted Russia directly so that has to be seen. And History tells us that due the sacrifice capacities of the two, Russia will win. The US will not and can not withstand the death of millions of its troops in a war, neither can England, France or Italy, they just lack the psychological capacities for that. The Eastern Europeans will give a good fight and many sacrifices but will be overwhelmed quickly by Russian Armored divisions, and supremacy in their skies.
Russia still has much poverty and low standards of living, So it is not the right time to provoke it to war, since all those rural populations will be more than happy to go kill some fat spoiled Westerners. Democracy does not mean to vote for some a**hole politician everyone knows in advance that he will break all his nice writen promises and after he breaks them everyone acts like this is some unexpected twist.

Democracy means Will of the Folk. True democracy is only referendum not selling out vote for some stupid party which is called pseudo democracy which you have in germany. Terminator genes don't work that way. It just means that when you breed a plant with terminator genes, it has no follow-on seeds. You would have to talk Russia into buying nothing but terminator enabled genes, and then refuse to sell the next year, AND Russia would have to be so careless to not have any seeds of their own, AND no one else in the world would be willing to sell to them. Not gonna happen.

No, the "folk" should never have the power to rule. What we need is a pure technocracy. Decissions made from scientists and experts on their field. A stupid worker should have no power over my life-. You don´t know what you talk about. You can use Adeno Virus to implement any genetic code into any organism you want. In reality this concept can also be used on humans. Its called Ethno weapon. Take a specific genetic haplo group thats dominant on russians and the Virus will spread there and alter their DNA. Stop their cellular capability to regenerate for example and let them rott away. The possibilities are endless.
