The governments of Russia and Sudan signed agreements for cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, gold mining and a number of other documents.
During a meeting between Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Sudanese President Omar Bashir, held in Sochi on Friday, Russia's "AM Invest" company and Sudan's Ministry of Mineral Resources signed an agreement to explore gold.
The Minister of Water Resources, Irrigation and Electricity, Moataz Salem, and the Director General of Russia's Ross Atom, Alexei Lekachev, signed a government agreement to cooperate in the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes. He also revealed the signing of an agreement to build a 1200 MW nuclear power plant.
The foreign ministries of the two countries have also signed an agreement that allows travelers with diplomatic passports to enter without a visa.
Russian Education Minister Olga Vasileva and Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in higher education.
In addition, the Ministries of Agriculture of Russia and Sudan signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields related to the agricultural sector.
The Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Oil and Gas signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of oil and gas.
Among the agreements signed is a memorandum of understanding between the Russian company Ross Geology and Sudan's Ministry of Oil and Gas, which allows for the distribution of licenses for geological exploration blocks between Kush for Exploration & amp; Co. Ltd. and CO.Ltd on the one hand and the Sudanese Ministry on the other.
