Turkey is just going to be a Dialogue Partner.

Bangladesh should be a Full Member in SCO.
Sri Lanka should be a Full Member in SCO.

The countries you mentioned above currently have very little involvement or interest in the Central Asian affairs. It's the same reason why they are in SAARC and China isn't. But if India and Pakistan do get inducted, I see them potentially joining in the future.

Its illogical to add both nations together since India has a territorial dispute with Pakistan.

This is where the debate started. No alliance in the region, be it SCO or SAARC can work without the co-operation of Both India and Pakistan. Inclusion of only one meant alienating the other with a potential risk of another regional alliance on a western alliance coming into play. Besides, it is widely acknowledged that Russia was the backer of India and China of Pakistan. Since the SCO is looking to expand, it will bring in both India and Pakistan into it's fold to bring more credibility to the alliance. Infact it has already changed its constitution to allow for the same.

And why? The Shimla Agreement has proved to be a failure. Pakistan and India have not been able to solve the Kashmir dispute or Sir Creek dispute.


The disputes need to be solved according to just and moral principles.
Lets hold a Plebiscite in Kashmir, and lets see what the Kashmiris want. Do Kashmiris want Pakistan or India? It's very simple.

India has not solved the South Tibet dispute with China. China claims Aksai Chin, but India wants Aksai Chin.

India should not be in SCO.

Its only Russia that is preventing Pakistan from joining SCO.

Otherwise, Pakistan is pretty much relevant in Central Asian Affairs, and there is no excuse for Pakistan not to be in SCO.

It will not bring more credibility if India brings its problem with Pakistan.
