Alot of them got rebranded like Standard Oil became Exxon Mobil, GE is still around, Allied Chemical became Honeywell, Westinghouse got sold to Toshiba, etc.

If some company got sold it is because they were not doing well. (Chrysler, Westinghouse)
Most of them are not the giants or AAA rated companies

Don't mind some members on here. They are just jealous or saying such negative stuffs about space X simply because Space X is an American company. If Space X was a Chinese company, then believe me this forum will be full of them singing their praises day and night and making whole threads dedicated for Space X and how a common private Chinese company is dominating the world space launch industry. Lol
