Runner motors to export automobiles

Where do you guys get such cool stories from?

Chinese bikes flopped in India, now they are trying to push their products through Bangladesh. Not gonna happen. Indian customers want vfm, and unfortunately all the chinese products they have seen so far have failed to do that.

Honda hasn't moved out from India. They are going solo now, and have three manufacturing plants. They are not stupid to exit the worlds second largest 2 wheeler market.

Honda is not stupid but you are that without any knowledge you are uttering your nonsense. Honda has cancelled its contract with Hero through which it used to sell bikes to Bangladesh and formed a joint venture here. It will assemble bike here and within 4 year it will be a full manufacturing plant.

New Age | Newspaper

Honda used to sell motorcycles in Bangladesh through Indian motorcycle maker Hero MotoCorp Ltd.
The Japanese company cancelled its tie-up with Hero in 2011, the Nikki reported.

The venture, with a local business, will set up a low-cost assembly plant with an annual sales target of 10,000 to 20,000 units, the business daily said.

Walton BD produces good quality bikes. They are new in producing bike so, it will take some time. I can still remember what Bajaj & Hero made before 10years ago. So, In this sense Walton is doing just fine...

Motorcycle makers in Bangladesh :

1. Walton BD (100% made in Bangladesh)
2. Honda-BD BSEC JV
3. Byke Museum & SYM LTD
4. Runner Auto BD
5. Intraco Bangladesh
6. J Motors
7. Others(TVS-BD)

Assembling task of motor vehicles in BD is nothing new. It would be pleasant to see at least the engine is manufactured in BD starting from the casting of metal.

MyOne, Singer and Butterfly are 3 other manufacturers of motorcycle in BD. Within 2013 Walton will deliver its own engine with bike making it 100% own production.

You have done a great dis-service to the Indian posters. The photos of our products above may cause faint and even death of protein non-eating Indians. You may be accused by the GoI of conspiring to kill these thin bodied and feeble minded Indians.

Are you serious?

And what has that got to do with anything? You said, "Honda has exited India and opted for a Bangladesh plant".

And I must say you guys did good with byke specially the JV Hero-Honda (Not that its performance is anywhere near the original Honda but its better than your own).

And some one forgot Bajaj, TVS which are actually the best selling brands among the Youth and not Hero Honda.

However, if we look at the Car section, then you guy's suck... We sometime use Tata Indica V2 and Maruti 800 as jokes and to make fun of others. When people say anything good about your car they say it like this: Mercedes and Maruti both starts with Letter "M", but Mercedes is the peak in the automobile industry and Maruti is at the bottom.:agree: Just imagine what they say when they... We say Indian car is nothing but Junk.

And how many 'junks' you manufacture ? Your position is below us. So talk respectfully.

Bangladesh market was taken over by Indian with a trickery when Hero persuaded Honda to close its assembling in BD. Then a sudden void was created in BD which was filled by Indian bikes. But Honda now realized that, they made one of the biggest blunder, they are now chasing govt to come back and start their own plant here. Same happened to Coke as well. Indian made them believe that they can serve BD market from India. Coke lost lion share of BD market. Now they are again coming back with their own plant.

I can show you plenty of Indian treachery which all failed and most of the western companies now know, doing business in India not easy.

The days for Indian bike in BD are numbered. Take my word.

That was awesome. You dont mess with the Baniyas.

Do take di bike 2 takka vich aandi aan.

I think runner being relative new in this field is using India and nepal as a test bed before going for higher markets in ME.;) Walton already exports to ME and are planning to export large capacity refrigerators to europe. But the best thing for us would have been to increase tariff/ permanently ban Indian bikes in this country. But dalal gov won't do it.

Tariffs can be as high as 165 percent on motor bikes imported into India. If you can face the stiff competition from various bikes made in India, you can do it anywhere in the world. Good luck!!!!

On the side note, why do want to ban anything??? If you increase the tariffs on the items you want to restrict, you would have achieved the same result...... plus you would earn good tax revenue too.

U guys opened up your economy in 92 and before that your current big boys like Tata, mahindra, Bajaj, Ashok Leyland had over 5 decades to grow. BTW the time U opened it they already had enough experience to stay in competition with foreign brands. The inferior one got abolished but the ones strong enough managed to stay and they gained this strength over time(5 decades in your case). And people having money will usually go for Quality and good brand name rather than Domestic brands (its human nature), thus its better to go all the way in protecting industries that show good prospects for the future and this motorcycle Industry is one. :)

You know something, you are in no position to judge the Chinese vehicles given that you did not ever in your life experienced a Chinese vehicle. We Bangladeshi, we are the users of Both Chinese and Indian vehicles. And I must say you guys did good with byke specially the JV Hero-Honda (Not that its performance is anywhere near the original Honda but its better than your own).

My friend Maruti 800 will cost you 4K$....Indica will cost you around 8k$.....and on the other hand you will have to pay atleast 55k$ for the base of Merc......so now you tell me how many in Bangladesh can afford to buy a car of worth 4500000 Takka......
