By Karachite it doesnt necessarily mean your intention was racist. Like some of the Pak folks do here. The usual rants of racial difference than rest of the subcontinent. Some of the people may have taken this post that way and questioned about the intention. A karachite can be anything. Total subcontinent population has representation there. Even Bengalis. By meaning Karachite, there is always probability that man has ancestral background some remote corner of the subcontinent.

I don't know what your point is. That Rais is not as pretty as Kumail?

Better yet - I am glad Kumail doesn't have the same mentality as you do. Otherwise he wouldn't agree to do a movie about Rais. Clearly he sees value in the story which you have failed to grasp....
I feel a Bangladeshi or Indian actor would have been better. See the Pakistani filthy mentality proudly being displayed here.

I Think Irfan Khan would have been better. What do you think?

Bhuiyan, the Bangladeshi native, decides to seek out his attacker and grant him forgiveness, while starting a campaign against the death penalty in their state

Acclaimed Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín is set to direct his upcoming film “The True American,” based on a Bangladesh Air Force officer’s actual accounts, starring the ‘Hulk’ star Mark Ruffalo and Kumail Nanjiani from “The Big Sick.” The project is being produced by Oscar Winning director Kathryn Bigelow and backed by Annapurna Pictures, the studio behind many Academy Award winning films like “Zero Dark Thirty” and “Her.”

The film is based on the non-fiction book, “The True American: Murder and Mercy In Texas,” written by Anand Giridharadas, which revolves around the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It will tell the story of Rais Bhuiyan, a Muslim immigrant and Bangladesh Air Force veteran, played by Nanjiani, who barely escapes a killing spree (that leaves two others dead) perpetrated by Mark Stroman, the self-proclaimed “Arab-slayer,” played by Ruffalo.

Bhuiyan, the Bangladeshi native, however tries to save his attacker from the death penalty. He decides to seek out his attacker and grant him forgiveness, while starting a campaign against the death penalty in their state.

According to a recent report published by Empire, the project has already created a buzz in Hollywood for having massive potentials and currently being taken to the next steps to becoming a reality.

Bigelow, producer of “The True American,” previously lined up Tom Hardy and Riz Ahmed for the lead roles. Larraín took it over last year and is locking his chosen cast.

On the other hand, Ruffalo returns as Dr. Bruce Banner (Hulk) in “Avengers: Infinity War,” slated to be released on April 26. Nanjiani is currently working on the latest season of “Silicon Valley,” which kicks off this week.

“The True American” will begin production depending on the availability of its supposed stars. According to another recent report by Screen Rant, Nanjiani’s schedule is clear for now, though Ruffalo is allegedly in line to play Don Hewitt in this fall’s “Newsflash,” set for a November release, after he completes the press tour for “Avengers: Infinity War.” Annapurna Pictures is hopeful that they can start production as soon as Ruffalo’s schedule clears up.

Rais Bhuiyan, the Bangladesh Air Force officer the film is based on, was a student of Sylhet Cadet College who later on went to New York City to study computer technology. After the September 11 terror attacks, Mark Anthony Stroman shot Bhuiyan, attempting to kill him as he was a Muslim. Bhuiyan survived, but lost sight in one of his eyes. Bhuiyan gained media attention after revealing that he would appeal to the court to save Stroman, his shooter, from the death penalty. Later on he started a movement named “World Without Hate” to prevent hate crimes through education and worked with Amnesty International.
Soon Haseena lead mukti bahni protests would be held in BD. Surely they will be chanting

Irfan Khan is certainly a far better actor but he's too old unfortunately. In fact he's older than Bhuiyan himself.

I dont know what you guys are talking about. Rais at the time of attack was much better looking than this hawk faced actor.

Bhai you and I as Bangladeshis must set better examples. All people are Allah's creation and he has created everyone as uniquely beautiful human beings, even those with supposed physical deformities. Everyone is equally precious in the eyes of Allah S.W.T. Any other way to see things are our limitations only.

I know you said this jokingly, but we must not judge someone on their looks.

And Kumail's principles of inclusiveness, openness and fairness are light-years better than some of the uneducated Pakistani trolls here. I know his work and his beliefs - I respect him a lot.

@WebMaster @Horus another inferiority filled thread from inferiority stricken bengalis..

i am still waiting for an answer from management...why PDF is glorifying these hate filled inferiority stricken idiots and their irrelevant country by providing them their own sub forum?

Want to make a quick comment.

I personally dont think @DESERT FIGHTER had any racist intentions. At the very first look, it appeared to be quite informative in fact, as I have not seen Mr. Rais before and there was no pic in the OP as well. Thus, it actually isn't that negative as some of our friends have made out to be. Furthermore, I dont think any Pak members had made any racist comments here as well or made any comparison with the actor playing Mr. Rais's role.

As for the "Karachiite" comment, would there have be an issue with Pakistanis/Indians if we termed Mr. Rais as "Dhakaiyaa" or "Chatgaiyaa"? It just shows where the person is from, he can be from Karachi or Lahore or Peshawar for all we should care. Please take it easy.

Its true that many trolls/idiots here spew racist propaganda but does not mean we view everyone with the same glass. We are better than this and we need to show that.

   Ironically all the bang bang deshis hitting the roof with their lungis flying around finding deserts post racist are the same guys like bilal9 , homosapiens and other bongo clowns .who had several times mentioned before us posters on this forum and in almost this manner " I am ahem ahem a fair complexioned guy , yes i know u will be surprised but i have a fair tone"

Going by bango bango deshis individual posters claims made on this forum ,all of them are fair colored guys , so i wonder why these beautiful bangos are taking offence? Infact kumail should not be considered good looking by the standards of the vairy vairy beautiful bang deshis on this forum.

Never will you find a race with so much inferiority complexes ridden mindsets and fake self victiminzation attention seeking disorder which is exactly what bangos used to cry about in 65 onwards period.

Anyways, back to the topic of a film on Hilsa airforce.

I think he'd rather make a movie about the (ahem) relationship triangle between Asif, Salman and Mudassir. EPIC!

British online publication The Independent called Asif and Mudassir's breakup "the greatest relationship tragedy since Romeo and Juliet".
Nope we will make a movie of Haseena sleeping with modi.

We take offence because we cannot fathom that someone in 2018 can still have this mentality that one is better because of a lack of melanin in their skin, or has a nose resembling a bansoori instead of broader one, or people who do not fit whatever effed-up concept of 'beauty' or 'superiority' YOU have. :disagree:

All it amounts to (when you do this) is that YOU have the inferiority complex. Treating other human beings as worse-looking (darker, uglier as defined by you) just so YOU feel better is a sick perverted mechanism to feel a bit better about yourself. Often it is because you lack any other way to feel better about yourself - like having education, enlightenment or any other merit.

Some of you race-baiters are too obtuse to understand this simple concept. Or maybe just too young. Don't ever come to the US with this mentality, you won't fit in at all. Racism is looked down universally in this country. You won't find any takers here.

Allah forbid if someday you go to a racist country in maybe Europe filled with neo-Nazis, where they start treat you like the inferior brown 'Indian' creature you are (spitting on you and calling you names), then you will realize how racism affects you as well.

It all amounts to a level of pitiful ignorance - I'm sorry to say.

How some BD posters here operate:
- Get attention by finding racism when it doesn't even exist in some post.
- Call others racists by projecting your own insecurities based on your own perceived definition of beauty and blame others for that.
- Keep on crying and whining about racism.
- Got a bit attention? Now start playing Victim card.
- Keep on playing Victimized, Victimized for a while.
- Start from point no. 1 with some new poster/group if the first one stopped giving you any attention.

Gonna bookmark this thread for laughing in the future. May be I'd share with some others to show how ridiculous some posters here can get. Such gems :-)
