" it can be assumed that ", this single phrase can be applied to almost every Indian defence project and still be proven incorrect. It can probably be assumed that a plane that has it's first flight in 2001 would be in full FOC service by now. You should learn lessons about assumptions.....

Ghatak is not like that.
That thing is a black project directly monitored by PMO .Only ADA and highly qualified engineers from IITs developing it .
Two other scientific establishments under the PMO are DAE and ISRO .
And you knows these are highly successful.

Ah sorry, got you. Other projects delayed as they are run by a different branch of the Indian defence industry compared to this one which is assured to be successful. Take it PMO was not monitoring LCA for 20 years that. Thank you for clearing that up....

Ministry of defence handles DRDO.Their priority is basic deterence like missiles .Real messy business is OFB which the GoI going to privatise.

Critical national security project and establishments would be always under PMO .PM directly follows up such project.
Ghatak UCAV going on some time .
It seems we are not going to know the update of that project and probably wont even going to know even it is operationally deployed .

LCA development is actually not that bad .
But still it takes bit more time because of IAF changing requirments ,lobbying and sanctions etc .
It was a fighter project for IAF .
Most probably Ghatak wont be under IAF .

For us Indians , the basic fact is that IAF already spend our tax money to purchase the LCA .It was not bad , because it gave the much needed experience and an able 4 the generation aircraft .It is the part of our AF now .
Next stage is AMCA which will be Private Public company . A Private company actually.
