Wow, how did you manage to not even understand that? It's not necessary for any other 5th generation aircraft because they aren't fat and have high drag like the F-35. Are you kidding me now or are you actually this thick?

All airforces that flew F16 either carried drop tanks under their wings or used CFTs or both. Fifth generation fighters can't do that so they have to have more fuel internally.

F35C has even longer operational range, that's why I suggested earlier that we should look into it.
But the C variant lacks a gun, TurAF might have a problem with it

Also note that F35A has a 25mm gun as opposed to the 20mm M61 Vulcan on the F16.
It should have a higher velocity but lower rate of fire.

5th gen fighters are meant to be seen. so wvraams countermeasures are not really necessary. the f35c is my preferred option of the 3 variants.as it has large controls surfaces(bigger wing) allows for it to make tight maneuvers at lower speeds as compared to the a and b variants. also it has a 200nm increase in range too.

well i dont think it would be too hard to make the wings fixed, which in turn remove the folding wing mechanism and also the landing gears will not need to be reinforced. so this reduction in weight will make the f35c more efficient in term of fuel efficiency and speed among others factors too. a drag chute is for Norwegian and the Canadian f35s only.

ANKARA, Turkey — Rolls-Royce is offering its EJ200 engine to power the first Turkish-made fighter jet, Turkish officials said.

Procurement sources said the Ankara government and Rolls Royce may be coming near to a deal depending on what the company's solution will entail in terms of production, know-how and export licenses.

Under a program dubbed the TFX ,Turkey wants to design, develop and produce its own fighter jet. Political and procurement officials are aiming for 2023 for its first test flights, the year when Turkey will be celebrating the republic's centennial, although most observers view that target with skepticism.

In October, Rolls-Royce signed a memorandum of understanding with Turkey's state scientific research institute to open an "advanced manufacturing technology center in" Turkey.

The move came shortly after Turkey's procurement authorities met in Britain with Rolls-Royce officials to discuss an engine they want to power the TFX.

Under the MOU, Rolls-Royce will work with the TUBITAK research council and related Turkish ministries: science, energy, transport and defense.



Rolls-Royce invests about £1.2 billion in research and development annually. It operates in more than 50 countries and applies for some 600 patents on new technologies every year.

The EJ200 is a collaborative engine between Rolls-Royce, MTU, Avio and ITP. The consortium established EUROJET Turbo GmbH in the late 1980s. Rolls-Royce said the technology of EJ200 makes it smaller and simpler in layout than current engines of a similar thrust class, while giving it lower fuel consumption and an unprecedented power-to-weight ratio.

The first series production Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft were flown in February 2003. The Typhoon flew operational missions over Libya as part of Operation Ellamy, totaling 6,000 engine hours without a reject.

Rolls-Royce has so far delivered more than 1,100 EJ2000 engines. It has a thrust range from 13,500 lbf dry to 20,000 lbf with reheat.

as much as that would be a good idea, i dont think such a deal would happen. but motor sich (from urkrain) is building a factory in china though. they have mastered afterburner technology. and are working on a 10 tonne thrust class engine which a variant of the ai-222. they make the ai-222-25f for the l-15 trainer

thats the problem the arms embargo. and the ai-222-95f is in the same range of the ej-200. china can buy as much commercial engines as they want, but military grade? thats a different scenario.

You don't seem to get it F22s whole production line has been closed. They don't make it anymore. There's no such scenario where F22 complements F35. Very low number of 187 F22s are most likely going to remain in the air national guard and guard the mainland USA...

As for F35 the numbers may change but ultimately it'll be around 2500, the number already fell from 3000

F-22's production is halted but line is not closed. There are some rumors about a F-22C variant that will include technological gains of the JSF program. All F-22's will be upgraded to that variant and some additional aircraft may be produced.

Rolls-Royce wins contract for power, propulsion and deck machinery equipment with Shanghai's Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group

Rolls-Royce today signed a contract with Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group (Sinopacific) in Shanghai for a package of power and propulsion equipment and deck machinery.

The contract is to equip nine SPA80A Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels to be designed and built by Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group and owned and operated by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, ESNAAD.

Each ship will have a bollard pull of 80 metric tonnes, and be equipped with highly efficient Bergen diesel engines, main and tunnel thrusters, electrical power system and a deck machinery package from Rolls-Royce. This represents a suite of reliable and robust technology developed for the most demanding conditions.

JIANG Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of Sinopacific said: “The visit of Rolls-Royce senior executives to Sinopacific in 2013 reinforced the relationship between our two companies as did the provision of Rolls-Royce integrated equipment packages for Sinopacific’s in-house designed SPA150 AHTS series. This was a first for Rolls-Royce in the Chinese market.”

The vessels will be built at Sinopacific’s Zhejiang Shipyard and the first vessel is due for delivery in 2017.
