One sovereign state cannot occupy/annex another sovereign state under the today's international diplomacy, that's so 20th century. Not to mention the fact that the ROK will not seize fire until the last of PLA troops are driven out of Yalu River.

I always wonder how the South Koreans always dream of 'the best case scenarios' and always assume their Uncle will back them.

The US troops based in Korea are under the ROK Defense Ministry's command from 2015 and onward. ROK defense ministry can count on it because they command those US troops.

I'm sure the Chinese leadership knows there are other ways to fight a war.

The difference is that China has trillions to lose this time around. The longer the war drags out, greater the Chinese economy is damaged and more likely the civil unrest in China spread, so the best case outcome for China is for North Korea to fall quickly and let the dust settle in a week.

When North Korea was complaining about the ROK and the US drilling for an invasion of North Korea they were actually correct.

If they weren't drilling for a beach landing in North Korea according to you, then they might have been drilling for a beach landing in China instead, who knows.

These drills cost tens of millions of dollars to hold and are done under a realistic scenario in the war plan; the North Korea invasion scenario that is.

A drill is still a drill when there are no opponents involved. Cost is part of the budget.

Aside from the problem of terrible losses to be suffered on PLA's part in such an attempt, the legal problem is that China has recognized North Korea as a sovereign state while the ROK, the US, and the rest of UN forces did not. So the ROK and the UN occupation of North Korea is legal since North Korea is not a sovereign state under their laws and they may enter North Korea under the ROK's permission, while the China cannot occupy North Korea because North Korea is a sovereign state under the Chinese law.

LOL you think China is going to care about some pieces of paper when PLA rolls down the Korean peninsula in a mechanized wave of Type 99G tanks and WZ-10A helicopters? Seoul will be occupied by PLA in the end and fly the 5 star flag.

North does not need china to help, if the war breaks out noko will go all out that means they will use every thing they have & wont even hesitate a bit about consequences........

Well, a nuclear NK would give Japan the excuse to develop its own nuke, this is not what USA wants to see.

Even we don't want Japan to develop the nuke, so blaming us for supporting the nuclear program of NK is absolutely wrong.

If we did support them, they would acquire the nuke long time ago, instead of making those low-quality dirty bombs.

why would japan want a nuke ????? thats a lame excuse when china already has the nuke, & remember japs have mighty USA sitting there to protect them...... japs should be busy focussing on developing some more technology
